A reconstruction of sea surface temperature (SST) spanning 45 years (1966–2011) was developed from δ18O obtained from the aragonitic shells of Glycymeris glycymeris, collected from the Bay of Brest, France. Bivalve sampling was undertaken monthly between 2014 and 2015 using a dredge. In total, 401 live specimens and 243 articulated paired valves from dead specimens were collected, of which 24 individuals were used to reconstruct SST. Stones where mythical creatures carry out work connected with wearing apparel appear in publications on the mythological stones of Lithuania and Belarus. This theme is not so widely considered in Latvian research literature. The aim of this work is to show that in Latvian folklore, by natural (stone, tree, stump, water, cave, etc) and man-made objects of the cultural space (threshing barn, cemetery, hill-fort, etc), mythical creatures tailor, spin, knit and mend for people or for themselves. In this work we are going to take a chronological and typological tour by studying the iconography that appears in the Hellenistic wares imported from the Central and Oriental Mediterranean between 3rd and 2nd centuries BC in Hispania Citerior, in particular from Cartagena. We are going to analyze its functionality in the places of origin, and with the help of the Hispanic contexts we will conclude whether its presence here is a consequence of a certain commercial dynamic, or if it answers to a decorative preference, of taste or trend; even if the images are significant related to ritual or convivial uses, public or private, by the local inhabitant who acquires and uses them.

Kosmosā tapa Maskavas olimpisko spēļu simbola lācīša figūra. Iekārtu "Lotoss", kas pašreiz atrodas Latvijas Ķīmijas vēstures muzeja krājumā, LPSR Zinātņu Akadēmijas Koksnes ķīmijas institūtā izstrādājis latviešu ķīmiķis, ķīmijas doktors, izgudrotājs un gleznotājs Arnolds Alksnis, un tā domāta polimerizācijas reakciju pētīšanai bezsvara stāvoklī.

Niniejsza praca odnosi się do zagadnienia skutku bezpośredniego klauzuli zawieszenia (art. 108 ust. 3 zd. 3 TFUE), mającej zastosowanie do odzyskania pomocy niezgodnej z prawem bez konieczności istnienia decyzji Komisji, wskazując, że niedawny rozwój orzecznictwa wskazuje na jej skutek horyzontalny. Nadto sytuacja beneficjenta jest poddawana ocenie z wnioskiem, że ów nie posiada podobnej pozycji procesowej, co osoba powołująca się na art. 108 ust. 3 zd. 3 TFUE. The paper proposes an approach of a novel non-contact optical technique for early evaluation of microbial activity. Noncontact evaluation will exploit laser speckle contrast imaging technique in combination with artificial neural network (ANN) based image processing. Microbial activity evaluation process will comprise acquisition of time variable laser speckle patterns in given sample, ANN based image processing and visualization of obtained results. Targeting N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) with increased π-acceptor character featuring N-fluorophenyl substituents, the molecular 2-chloro-1,3-bis(fluorophenyl)imidazolidine-4,5-diones (1a–c) were isolated from the condensation of the corresponding formamidine with oxalyl chloride. Four species of moss genus Schistidium are reported for the first time from China. All of them have been found in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Ecological and distributional details of the newly recorded species are provided and their local distribution is mapped. Photographs of the species are attached. Checklist of Schistidium species and identifying key are added. Considering the present records, Schistidium consists of 15 species in China.
