Search for inelastic scattering of WIMP dark matter in XENON1T

We report the results of a search for the inelastic scattering of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) in the XENON1T dark matter experiment. Scattering off $^{129}$Xe is the most sensitive probe of inelastic WIMP interactions, with a signature of a 39.6 keV de-excitation photon detected simultaneously with the nuclear recoil. Using an exposure of 0.89 tonne-years, we find no evidence of inelastic WIMP scattering with a significance of more than 2$\sigma$. A profile-likelihood ratio analysis is used to set upper limits on the cross-section of WIMP-nucleus interactions. Direct dark matter detection experiments based on a liquid xenon target are leading the search for dark matter particles with masses above ∼5 GeV/c2, but have limited sensitivity to lighter masses because of the small momentum transfer in dark matter-nucleus elastic scattering. However, there is an irreducible contribution from inelastic processes accompanying the elastic scattering, which leads to the excitation and ionization of the recoiling atom (the Migdal effect) or the emission of a bremsstrahlung photon. Tässä tutkimuksessa on tutkittu opettajapuhetta kriittisen diskurssianalyysin keinoin kriittisestä tietokäsityksestä lähtien. Aineisto on kerätty teemahaastatteluina viideltä opettajalta sekä ryhmähaastatteluna seitsemältä opettajalta videoimalla haastattelut ja litteroimalla puhe. Opettajapuheesta on haluttu selvittää millaisiin diskursseihin koulukultturi jakautuu, millaista tietokäsitystä opettajat tuottavat ja kuinka opettajapuheen koulukulttuuri kohtaa vallitsevan inkluusioajattelun (yhdistynyt järjestelmä) ja ehdotetun kriittisen inkluusion kanssa. This article describes the social networks of four young people with intellectual disabilities in supported adult education, focusing on their inclusion in school and leisure environments. A multiple case study approach with content analysis was used. Data were collected through interviews with young people and their family members, relationship maps, observation journals and notes from Personal Futures Planning meetings. Relationships with family members, other relatives and neighbours were close. One participant had a friend of her own age with no disabilities. W artykule przedstawiono ocenę zagrożenia walorów fizjonomicznych krajobrazu wzdłuż drogi krajowej Myślenice – Zakopane, jednej z najważniejszych dróg turystycznych Polski. Podstawą analizy była inwentaryzacja obiektów reklamy zewnętrznej po obydwu stronach drogi w pasmach o szerokości 100 m. Badany obszar ma bardzo istotne znaczenie w percepcji krajobrazów górskich polskiej części Karpat. W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy stwierdzono bardzo wysoki stopień zagrożenia walorów widokowych przez reklamy. Zinwentaryzowano 1096 obiektów reklamowych, co daje średnie zagęszczenie ok. 18 reklam na 1 km drogi. Na najbardziej zagrożonych odcinkach w Zakopanem i Rabce obiekty reklamowe występują średnio…
