Innovative IC framework in the non profit sector

2012

The importance of intellectual capital in the non-profit sector generates the need to measure its role in the value creation process. The purpose of the paper is to study the application of intellectual capital within the non-profit sector, by turning attention to resources such as: knowledge, experience, and skills. Organizations, which are able to increase the knowledge of their staff and transform this knowledge into skills to improve services, can easily meet users’ needs and, thereby, become competitive. This contribution proposes to study how people’s knowledge can contribute to increasing social value, which is the non–profit organization’s aim. Furthermore, the goal is to de…

Guanxi, trust and reward-based crowdfunding success: a Chinese case

2019

Purpose This paper aims to examine different hypotheses concerning the effects of guanxi on the reward-based crowdfunding project fundraising. Specifically, this study provides new insights into how guanxi and guanxi intensity may affect reward-based crowdfunding success and project performance in the Chinese context. Design/methodology/approach The research data including 989 crowdfunding projects were collected from zhongchou.com which is the largest reward-based crowdfunding platform in a one-year period (2014.1-2014.12). The hypotheses are tested by using robust OLS regressions and robust logistic regressions. Robustness check was also conducted to test the validation of the results. F…

Opinion of the Patients About an Internet-Based Psychological Treatment Protocol

2015

Emotional disorders (depression and anxiety disorders) are highly prevalent. Currently, there is evidence showing the efficacy of disorder-specific cognitive-behavior therapy for emotional disorders. However, high comorbidity rates among emotional disorders have led some researchers to shift the focus to treatment strategies that might be more widely effective across these diverse conditions (transdiagnostic approach). Another important line of research in the literature is Internet-based psychotherapy. An increasing number of meta-analyses have shown the efficacy and effectiveness of Internet-based cognitive-behavior treatment protocols for emotional disorders. Nevetherless, little is know…

Development of extracellular vesicle-based medicinal products: A position paper of the group “Extracellular Vesicle translatiOn to clinicaL perspecti…

2021

International audience; Extracellular vesicles (EV) are emergent therapeutic effectors that have reached clinical trial investigation. To translate EV-based therapeutic to clinic, the challenge is to demonstrate quality, safety, and efficacy, as required for any medicinal product. EV research translation into medicinal products is an exciting and challenging perspective. Recent papers, provide important guidance on regulatory aspects of pharmaceutical development, defining EVs for therapeutic applications and critical considerations for the development of potency tests. In addition, the ISEV Task Force on Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Use of EV-based Therapeutics as well as the Exosomes C…

The correlation between intellectual property management and quality management in the modern knowledge-based economy

2018

The aim of this research paper is to highlight the intellectual property place and role within an industrial knowledge-based organization which performs design activities. The research begins by presenting the importance of integrating intellectual property policy implementation with quality policy. The research is based on the setting of objectives in the intellectual property field. This research also establishes some intellectual property strategies, and improvement measures for intellectual property protection management. The basis for these activities is correlation of the quality policy with an intellectual property policy, as well as the point of strength identified in the studied or…

Assessing the Impact of DMAIC-Knowledge Management Methodology on Six Sigma Projects: An Evaluation through Participant’s Perception

2014

As an emerging concept, Knowledge Management (KM) has a great impact on organization and organizational performance. On the other hand, DMAIC is a well known methodology, used for solving organizational problems through Six Sigma projects. The main purpose of this study is to assess the impact of newly proposed DMAIC-KM integrated methodology in executing Six Sigma projects. For assessment, four Six Sigma projects have been executed using DMAIC-KM methodology within an airbag manufacturing unit. Afterward, the Opinion and Perception have been collected from the Project participant’s through conducting a quantitative survey regarding the Organizational benefits achieved after executing the DM…

The Italian multiple sclerosis register

2019

The past decade has seen extraordinary increase in worldwide availability of and access to several large multiple sclerosis (MS) databases and registries. MS registries represent powerful tools to provide meaningful information on the burden, natural history, and long-term safety and effectiveness of treatments. Moreover, patients, physicians, industry, and policy makers have an active interest in real-world observational studies based on register data, as they have the potential to answer the questions that are most relevant to daily treatment decision-making. In 2014, the Italian MS Foundation, in collaboration with the Italian MS clinical centers, promoted and funded the creation of the …

Groupware Support for Requirements Management in New Product Development

2005

Large high-technology companies operate in fiercely competitive international markets. To succeed, they need to shorten the cycle time of new product development (NPD) while improving product quality and maintaining or reducing the total resources required. Their abilities to meet these business goals depend on how extensively and effectively they collect, analyze, and utilize requirements in their product development. Creating and sharing such knowledge is complicated partly because the NPD activities of large companies are geographically distributed. Groupware technologies allow knowledge to be created and shared more effectively. Thus, they hold considerable potential as means of meeting…

An information systems design product theory for the class of integrated requirements and release management systems

2010

High-tech companies conducting product development need to collect and analyze requirements effectively, plan and implement releases, and allocate requirements to appropriate releases. Requirements and release management are complicated because development activities typically are scattered across multiple sites, involve multiple partners in different countries, leverage various development methods and tools, and are realized through various organizational arrangements such as release projects in organizations structured around products and permanent release teams in organizations responsible for the long-term development and maintenance of strategic software and hardware assets. Flexible, …
