Tämä kandidaatintutkielma käsittelee kirjallisuuskatsauksen muodossa niitä ikäsidonnaisia kognitiivisia muutoksia, jotka vaikuttavat käyttäjäkokemuksen muodostumiseen. Myös ikäsidonnaisen kognitiivisen heikentymisen vaikutuk-sia lieventävät käyttöliittymäsuunnittelun keinot on nostettu esille. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkastellaan kognitiivisten ominaisuuksien yhteyttä venäläis-suomalaisten yläkouluikäisten nuorten kirjoittamiseen. Tärkein tutkimuskysymys on, mitkä kognitiiviset ominaisuudet erottavat toisistaan molemmilla kielillä hyvin kirjoittavat ja molemmilla kielillä heikosti kirjoittavat oppilaat. Tämän lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitetään, eroavatko vahvojen ja heikkojen kirjoittajien taustatekijät toisistaan, sekä tarkastellaan, mihin taustatekijöihin heikko suoriutuminen venäjän- ja suomenkielisissä kirjoitelmissa voisi olla yhteydessä. Objective Cluster analysis of spatio-temporal event-related potential (ERP) data is a promising tool for exploring the measurement time window of ERPs. However, even after preprocessing, the remaining noise can result in uncertain cluster maps followed by unreliable time windows while clustering via conventional clustering methods. AbstractThe associations among readers’ cognitive skills (general cognitive ability, reading skills, and attentional functioning), task demands (easy versus difficult questions), and process measures (total fixation time on relevant and irrelevant paragraphs) was investigated to explain task-oriented reading accuracy and efficiency (number of scores in a given time unit). Structural equation modeling was applied to a large dataset collected with sixth-grade students, which included samples of dysfluent readers and those with attention difficulties. We studied cross-sectional, longitudinal and temporal associations between executive function and life-space mobility in old age. We assessed the association between intellectual ability in early adulthood and physical functioning in old age, and the association between early life motor development and cognitive performance in early old age. This article reports a qualitative study of cognitive assessments of three teenagers with sensory and multiple disabilities, including moderate to profound developmental disability. The aim was to evaluate the possibilities for adapting standardized tests and the implementation of interactional partnership in assessment. Cognitive assessments were made with an individually-adapted psychological assessment tool, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development.
