Clausal coordination in Finnish Sign Language

This paper deals with the coordination of clauses in Finnish Sign Language (FinSL). Building on conversational data, the paper first shows that linking in conjunctive coordination in FinSL is primarily asyndetic, whereas in adversative and disjunctive coordination FinSL prefers syndetic linking. Secondly, the paper investigates the nonmanual prosody of coordination: nonmanual activity is shown both to mark the juncture of the coordinand clauses and to draw their contours. The velocity-accuracy trade-off in overarm throwing has been well studied, but has presented conflicting results. The cause of the velocity-accuracy trade-off is poorly understood. The present study therefore aimed: to determine if a velocity-accuracy trade-off exists in Finnish baseball players, and to determine if there was any difference in kinematics, timing of movements, and intra-subject movement variability between three different throwing instructions. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman kirjallisuusosa käsittelee resorsinareenien metallikomplekseja. Tarkastelussa on keskitytty erityisesti resorsinareenien metallikompleksien rakenteeseen ja koordinaatiogeometriaan. Tutkielma on jaoteltu siirtymä- ja alkalimetalleihin sitoutuviin resorsinareeneihin, ja nämä on jaoteltu vielä tarkemmin resorsinareenien mukaan. Kokeellisen osan tarkoituksena oli syntetisoida terpyridiinifunktionalisoitu resorsinareeni, joka pystyy muodostamaan metallikomplekseja. The reactions of heavier group 14 element alkyne analogues (EAriPr4)2 (E = Ge, Sn; AriPr4 = C6H3-2,6-(C6H3-2,6-iPr2)2) with the group 6 transition-metal carbonyls M(CO)6 (M = Cr, Mo, W) under UV irradiation resulted in the cleavage of the E–E triple bond and the formation of the complexes {AriPr4EM(CO)4}2 (1–6), which were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction as well as by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray structural analyses of 1–6 showed that the complexes have a nearly planar rhomboid M2E2 core with three-coordinate group 14 atoms. We investigated the relationships between perceptions of similarity and interaction in spontaneously dancing dyads, and movement features extracted using novel computational methods. We hypothesized that dancers’ movements would be perceived as more similar when they exhibited spatially and temporally comparable movement patterns, and as more interactive when they spatially oriented more towards each other. Liikuntataitojen oppiminen on yksi liikuntakasvatuksen tärkeimmistä tavoitteista. Hyvät lii-kuntataidot auttavat liikunnallisen elämäntavan omaksumisessa ja arjessa selviytymisessä. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tutkia suomalaisten urheiluseurassa urheilevien lasten ja nuorten koordinaatiota, ketteryyttä ja dynaamista tasapainoa KTK-testillä (Körperkoor-dinationstest für Kinder) mitattuna. Tutkimuksen aineistona käytettiin sekundaariaineistoa, jossa 8–19-vuotiaita (n=1097, poikia 364, tyttöjä 733, ka 12,58 ± 1,80 vuotta) urheiluseurassa urheilevia lapsia ja nuoria oli mitattu KTK-testillä. Tämä tutkielma käsittelee rytmiikan oppimisen lähtökohtia. Rytmiikan oppimista tarkastellaan psykofyysisen kehityksen, valikoitujen keskeisen oppimisteorioiden sekä motorisen kehityksen näkökulmasta. Lisäksi tutkielmassa ovat opetuskäytäntöinä edustettuina kehollinen lähestyminen sekä sanarytmiikan ja rytmitavujen käyttö rytmiikan opetuksessa. Didaktiset käytännöt ovat instrumenttiopetuksessa usein hiljaista tietoa ja opetuskäytännöt ovat riippuvaisia opettajan taitotasosta sekä kiinnostuksen kohteista. Tapaustutkimus kuudesluokkalaisten motorisen koordinaation kehittymisestä

Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli tutkia peruskoulun ala-asteen oppilaiden motorisen koordinaation kehittymistä lyhyellä, neljän viikon ajanjaksolla. Tutkimusaineistoon pyydettiin mukaan helsinkiläisen ala-asteen kuudennen luokan oppilaita (n=24), joista poikia oli 10 ja tyttöjä 14. Lopullisen tutkimusjoukon muodostivat 20 kuudennen luokan oppilasta, joista poikia oli 8 ja tyttöjä 12. Motorisen koordinaation kehittymisen mittarina käytettiin neljä mittausosiota käsittä- vää KTK-testiä (Körperkoordinationstest für Kinder), jota käytettiin oppilaiden alku- ja lopputestauksessa.
