Tutkin pro gradu -tutkielmassani opioidiriippuvaisten korvaushoidossa olevien kokemuksia marginaalisuudesta. Korvaushoito on opioidiriippuvaisten kuntouttavaa, päihteettömyyteen tähtäävää ja haittoja vähentävää hoitoa. Se on päihdehoidon muoto, joka yhdistää sekä lääkkeellisiä että psykososiaalisia menetelmiä. Marginaaleja jäsennetään usein valtavirtaan luettujen hyväksyttyjen arvojen, normien ja lakien noudattamisen kautta. Huumeidenkäyttäjät asettuvat marginaaliin paitsi normien rikkomisen perusteella, myös usein hyväksi katsottujen yhteisöjen ulkopuolisuuden perusteella.
