Abstract This paper examines how the shift to knowledge and innovation economy has created new sites for the commodification of language and communication in the context of organizational consulting. The data come from a consultant-led development and training program of the management teams of a Finnish educational organization. AbstractIn order to offer early and accessible treatment for adolescents with depression, brief and effective treatments in adolescents’ everyday surroundings are needed. This randomized controlled trial studied the preliminary effectiveness, feasibility, and acceptability of interpersonal counseling (IPC) and brief psychosocial support (BPS) in school health and welfare services. The study was conducted in the 28 lower secondary schools of a large city in Southern Finland, randomized to provide either IPC or BPS. This study explores the relationship between primary school physical education and physical activity as sites for the practice of physical activity of Irish primary school children. Understanding how children make connections between physical activity sites is important in shaping physical education experiences that promote lifelong participation. In this article, we discuss the position of Finnish constitutional bilingualism in higher education in the context of internationalisation in English, by focusing on two universities: one dominantly monolingual (Finnish), one dominantly bilingual (Finnish–Swedish); in addition, both teach in English. This article investigates how discourses around language choices (language policy documents, selected staff and student interviews) construe these universities as monolingual, bilingual or trilingual, and what these discourses say about the universities as organisations themselves. Tutkielmassa selvitetään, miten Pyhäjärven kunnassa sijainneesta Kuusenmäen ”ylhäisemmästä” kansakoulusta muotoutui uuden oppivelvollisuuslain 1921 mukainen kansakoulu. Tutkimusajanjakso käsittää vuosien 1921 – 1939 välisen ajan, koska tänä aikana tarvittavat sopeuttamistoimenpiteet tehtiin koulun toiminnassa. Tutkielmassa käytetään mikrohistoriallista tarkastelutapaa. Tutkimusaineiston intensiivisellä ja tarkalla analysoinnilla saadaan informaatiota ilmiöstä, jota tarkastellaan. Tilastotietoja analysoitaessa käytetään kvantitatiivista menetelmää. Kolmantena menetelmänä tutkimuksessa käytetään vertailua.
