The goal of the processing industry, trade and consumers is to get eco-labelled freshwater fish products from sustainable fisheries into the market as soon as possible. The fourth largest natural lake system in Europe, the Saimaa lake system supports a fishery for vendace (Coregonus albula). Certification of the fishery requires an understanding of population structure to help determine the number and spatial extent of management units. Prediction and Surveillance Sampling Assessment in Plant Nurseries and Fields

In this paper, we propose a structured additive regression (STAR) model for modeling the occurrence of a disease in fields or nurseries. The methodological approach involves a Gaussian field (GF) affected by a spatial process represented by an approximation to a Gaussian Markov random field (GMRF). This modeling allows the building of maps with prediction probabilities regarding the presence of a disease in plants using Bayesian kriging. The advantage of this modeling is its computational benefit when compared with known spatial hierarchical models and with the Bayesian inference based on Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods. A b s t r a c t. The aim of this work is to present a fast and cheap method for high-resolution mapping of calcic horizons in vineyards based on geoelectrical proximal sensing. The study area, 45 ha located in southern Sicily (Italy), was characterized by an old, partially dismantled marine terrace and soils with a calcic horizon at different depths. The geoelectrical investigation consisted of a survey of the soil electrical resistivity recorded with the Automatic Resistivity Profiling-03 sensor. It is of great importance to choose a suitable district heating (DH) system for a specific DH area from the economics, environment and energy (3E) points of view. This is a multicriteria decision making problem, in which the criteria performance values (PVs) and weighting are characterized by uncertain or imprecise information. In this study, seven candidate DH systems are evaluated from the viewpoints of 3E by the stochastic multicriteria acceptability analysis (SMAA) method. Meteoroloģisko novērojumu staciju dati Kurzemes Baltijas jūras piekrastē rāda, ka gada siltajā periodā (marts – oktobris) diennakts siltajā laikā vēja ātruma sadalījumam ir maksimumi, kas atbilst krastam paralēliem vējiem gan no ziemeļu, gan dienvidu virziena. 2013. gada 3. un 6. maijs tika izvēlēti tālākai analīzei. Tika veikta matemātiskā modelēšana izmantojot WRF (Weather Research and Forecast) modeli, kā arī novērojumu analīze, iekļaujot ASCAT attālinātās izpētes vēja ātruma un virziena mērījumus no satelīta. Rezultāti rāda, ka ziemeļu virziena plūsmas var izskaidrot ar piekrastes zemo līmeņu plūsmu (coastal low-level jet), bet dienvidu virziena plūsmas var skaidrot ar krastam paralēlaj…
