Colorectal cancer (CRC) and cachexia are associated with the gut microbiota and microbial surface molecules. We characterized the CRC-associated microbiota and investigated whether cachexia affects the microbiota composition. Further, we examined the possible relationship between the microbial surface molecule flagellin and CRC. CRC cells (C26) were inoculated into mice. Activin receptor (ACVR) ligands were blocked, either before tumor formation or before and after, to increase muscle mass and prevent muscle loss. Darba mērķis. Noskaidrot pirmreizējā pieraksta glaukomas riska grupas pacientu biežumu, to subjektīvos un objektīvos datus. Darba metodes. Pētījumā tika iekļauti pirmreizējā pieraksta pacienti kuri sasnieguši vismaz 40 gadu vecumu un nav datu par glaukomu anamnēzē. Kā skrīninga metode tika izmantota optiskā koherentā tomogrāfija un citi izmeklējumi (bezkontakta tonometrs, autorefraktometrs), kā arī 15 jautājumu anketa, lai noskaidrotu glaukomas riska faktorus un diagnozes varbūtību. Rezultāti. No pētījumā iekļautajiem 50 pacientiem, asimptomātiska glaukoma tika konstatēta 4% pacientu (n=2) un 2% pacientu (n=1) aizdomas par glaukomu. Volatiliteetti ja tuotot pohjoismaisilla osakemarkkinoilla

Tämän työn tarkoituksena on selvittää, onko Pohjoismaissa havaittavissa alhaisen volatiliteetin anomaliaa ja tutkia volatiliteetin ja osaketuottojen suhdetta. Volatiliteettia mitataan osaketuottojen yhtiökohtaisella (idiosynkraattisella) volatiliteetilla, sekä yksinkertaisella volatiliteetilla. Tutkimuskysymystä tarkastellaan muodostamalla portfolioita osaketuotoista volatiliteetin mukaan. Käytettävä aineisto on Pohjoismaisilta osakemarkkinoilta vuosilta 1990–2013. Käytetyt hinnoittelumallit ovat CAPM, Fama & French -malli, sekä neljän faktorin malli.
