Activated kRas protects colon cancer cells from cucurbitacin-induced apoptosis: The role of p53 and p21

Cucurbitacins have been shown to inhibit proliferation in a variety of cancer cell lines. The aim of this study was to determine their biological activity in colon cancer cell lines that do not harbor activated STAT3, the key target of cucurbitacin. In order to establish the role of activated kRas in the responsiveness of cells to cucurbitacins, we performed experiments in isogenic colon cancer cell lines, HCT116 and Hke-3, which differ only by the presence of an activated kRas allele. The Multilingual Chamber of Deputies of Czechoslovakia in its Parliamentary Practice, 1920–1938 In addition to the two official languages of Czech and Slovak, German, Hungarian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Polish were allowed to be spoken as secondary languages in the lower house of Czechoslovakia’s parliament in 1920 in order to increase the acceptance of the new republic by the deputies of all national minorities. By swearing the oath in one of these languages, a deputy obtained the right to use this language in parliament. This article examines in which situations and how often members of parliament of minority descent took advantage of this right, regardless of their political convictions. …

Krāsu redzes izvērtēšana ar datorizētu krāsu sakārtošanas testu

Darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 39 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 23 attēlus, 1 tabulu, 5 pielikumus un 30 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Mērķis: izvērtēt krāsu redzi ar datorizētu FM-100 nokrāsu testu, dalībniekiem ar un bez krāsu redzes deficītiem. Salīdzināt iegūtos rezultātus ar fizisko testu rezultātiem (D-15 divas versijas, HRR, aomaloskops, FM-100 nokrāsu tests). Pētījumā piedalījās 30 dalībnieki (vīrieši), pusei dalībnieku tika konstatēti krāsu redzes deficīti. Krāsu sakārtošanas testi tika analizēti ar Vingrys and King-Smith metodi. Low-energy pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy has been suggested as a promising therapy to increase microcirculation, which is of great concern in patients with fibromyalgia. This study evaluated the effectiveness of PEMF therapy on the treatment of fibromyalgia. A group of 108 women with fibromyalgia were allocated to a 12-week treatment period with an active Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy-Regulation (BEMER) device and a similar treatment period with an inactive device. Abstract Activating KRAS mutations are detected in a substantial number of hematologic malignancies. In a murine T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) model, we previously showed that expression of oncogenic Kras induced a premalignant state accompanied with an arrest in T-cell differentiation and acquisition of somatic Notch1 mutations. These findings prompted us to investigate whether the expression of oncogenic KRAS directly affects DNA damage repair.
