Pro gradu -tutkielmassani tarkastelen Suomen uudelle yliopistolaille (2009) annettuja ristiriitaisia merkityksiä Jyväskylän yliopistoyhteisössä. Yliopistouudistus toi mukanaan merkittäviä taloudellisia ja ideologisia muutoksia suomalaiseen yliopistokenttään, ja siksi muutoksista on kiistelty paljon. Keskusteluissa on kuitenkin luonnehtinut ”yliopistouudistus hyvänä vs. pahana” -asettelu, joka ei ole paras mahdollinen tapa lähestyä uudistuksen jälkiteollisia syitä ja moninaisia seurauksia. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassani selvitän ELY-keskusten liikuntatoimen viranhaltijoiden näkemyksiä aluehallintouudistuksen vaikutuksista alueellisen liikuntatoimen tilaan. Aluehallinnon uudistus käynnistettiin hallitusohjelmalla vuonna 2007. Uudistus toteutui ja uudet viranomaiset aloittivat toimintansa 1.1.2010. Uudistuksessa lakkautettiin vanha lääninhallitusjärjestelmä ja liikuntatoimet siirrettiin ELY-keskusten alaisuuteen. Sivistyshallinto pirstoutui, kun osa sen tehtävistä sijoitettiin aluehallintovirastoihin ja osa maakunnan liitoille. However, the value of early childhood education teacher training (ECETT) programmes is not widely understood. Different trophic positions among social vespid species revealed by stable isotopes

The social vespid wasps are common insect predators and several species behave in unison in the same biotopes. It is commonly accepted that social wasps are mainly opportunistic generalist predators without differences in prey selection and hence they compete for the same food resources. Trophic positions of six vespid wasp species and their potential prey from four sites in Finland and one in the UK were evaluated using carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes (δ13C and δ15N). The difference in isotope values indicated different trophic positions among species. Integrating insights from new institutional economics and studies on the collapse of past empires, we sketch a process model that links economic degrowth to the collapse of institutional orders. Our thought experiment starts from emphasizing the importance of institutions and enforcement mechanisms in maintaining a sufficient level of economic activity to sustain public costs. We flip this established logic and elucidate the negative role of economic degrowth in the weakening of the public sector’s ability to enforce institutional rules. This chapter observes how recent Finnish municipal and regional cultural strategies signify and value culture. On the basis of a thematic analysis of 21 strategies, I construct three main categories of their 'culture speech': the first is to approach culture as an instrument that unites different administrative sectors, on the one hand, and helps them to achieve extra-cultural – mostly social and economic – objectives, on the other.
