Ohjauksen kirjaaminen : tyypin 2 diabetespotilaiden omahoito ja osaaminen potilasasiakirjoissa
2017
The purpose of this study was to describe the contents of type 2 diabetes patient self-management counselling documentation, how counselling of self- management appeared in various content areas and how patients’ self- management competence developed during the counselling. The research data consisted of nurses’ documentations from type 2 diabetes patient self- management counselling situations (N = 60) in primary health care. The data was collected in 2014 from the period between the years 2005 and 2014. Data were analyzed using content analysis as well as a case study approach. The documentation of self-management counselling included entries from content areas on nutrition, exercise, wei…
Luminescent PtII and PtIV Platinacycles with Anticancer Activity Against Multiplatinum‐Resistant Metastatic CRC and CRPC Cell Models
2020
Abstract: Platinum‐based chemotherapy persists to be the only effective therapeutic option against a wide variety of tumours. Nevertheless, the acquisition of platinum resistance is utterly common, ultimately cornering conventional platinum drugs to only palliative in many patients. Thus, encountering alternatives that are both effective and non‐cross‐resistant is urgent. In this work, we report the synthesis, reduction studies and luminescent properties of a series of cyclometallated (C,N,N’) PtIV compounds derived from amine‐imine ligands, and their remarkable efficacy at the high nanomolar range and complete lack of cross‐resistance, as an intrinsic property of the platinacycle, against …
Effect of Information Intervention on Prescribing Practice for Neuropathic Pain in Older Patients : A Nationwide Register-Based Study
2023
Introduction Management of prescription medicines is challenging for older patients due to frail health and the prevalence of multiple chronic conditions. A salient policy challenge of prescribing practices is that all physicians are not well informed about the national clinical guidelines. A feasible policy intervention to mitigate the harms caused by Potentially Inappropriate Medications is to influence the frequency of prescribing and other prescribing attributes of the drugs by providing accurate and up-to-date information about the national clinical guidelines. Objectives The objective of this study was to examine the effect of a nationwide information intervention on physicians’ presc…

Psykoosilääkehoidon ohjaus voi tehostaa skitsofrenian hoitoa
2022
Psykoosilääkkeet lievittävät skitsofrenian psykoosioireita ja vähentävät relapsiriskiä. Psykoosilääkityksen pitkäaikaiskäytön hyöty-haittasuhde skitsofrenian hoidossa on osin tuntematon.

Recombinant nanocapsid for targeted theranostic delivery
2017
Developments in diagnostic and therapeutic delivery are trending towards molecular level targeting with nano-platforms. Targeted delivery reduces generalized distribution by localizing diagnostic and/or therapeutic (theranostic) molecules to an intended target site. The first section of this thesis proposes Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) nanocapsids as a vector to stabilize and target theranostic delivery. Derived from the capsid protein of HEV, a feco-orally transmitted virus, HEV-like particles self-assemble in to non-infectious, nanocapsids that can withstand harsh protease and pH conditions in the mucosal system. The flexible nanocapsid surface protrusion domain is amenable to substantial modi…
Polyphenols Epigallocatechin Gallate and Resveratrol, and Polyphenol-Functionalized Nanoparticles Prevent Enterovirus Infection through Clustering an…
2021
To efficiently lower virus infectivity and combat virus epidemics or pandemics, it is important to discover broadly acting antivirals. Here, we investigated two naturally occurring polyphenols, Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and Resveratrol (RES), and polyphenol-functionalized nanoparticles for their antiviral efficacy. Concentrations in the low micromolar range permanently inhibited the infectivity of high doses of enteroviruses (107 PFU/mL). Sucrose gradient separation of radiolabeled viruses, dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopic imaging and an in-house developed real-time fluorescence assay revealed that polyphenols prevented infection mainly through clustering of…
