2018
Bakalaura darbā apskatīta loģistiskas regresijas un gadījuma meža algoritma pielietošana mikrofinansēšanas uzņēmuma klientu maksātspējas noteikšanai. Darba mērķis ir izmantojot iepriekš nosauktās metodes, izveidot dažādus klasifikācijas modeļus un novērtēt to kvalitātes rādītājus.
No franču valodas aizgūto termiņu analīze itāliešu valodā, modes sektorā
2016
Fecundity determines the outcome of founding queen associations in ants
2021
AbstractAnimal cooperation evolved because of its benefits to the cooperators. Pleometrosis in ants - the cooperation of queens to found a colony - benefits colony growth, but also incurs costs for some of the cooperators because only one queen usually survives the association. While several traits are associated with queen survival, they tend to be confounded and it is unclear which factor specifically determines the outcome of pleometrosis. In this study, we used the ant Lasius niger to monitor offspring production in colonies founded by one or two queens. Then, we experimentally paired queens that differed in fecundity but not in size, and vice versa, to disentangle the effect of these f…

Yet another alien: a second species of Lepisiota spreading across the Canary Islands, Spain (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)
2018
The Canary Islands are a biologically important archipelago hosting many unique species, whose myrmecofauna is peculiarly rich in both endemic and introduced species. Lepisiota frauenfeldi cfr. kantarensis Forel, 1911 is reported for the first time from Fuerteventura and Tenerife. It is the second species of Lepisiota introduced in the archipelago in the last few years, and one of the few documented cases in which Lepisiota frauenfeldi (Mayr, 1855) s.l. acts as a successful tramp species. Comments are also given on taxonomic problems involving the L. frauenfeldi-group and related taxa. Finally, new additional information and comments are presented on the distribution of other alien ants spe…
Daudzdimensionālu sadalījumu pielietošanas aspekti multispektrālu attēlu analīzē
2015
Epidemiology, diagnosis and management of hirsutism: a consensus statement by the Androgen Excess and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Society.
2012
Background Hirsutism, defined by the presence of excessive terminal hair in androgen-sensitive areas of the female body, is one of the most common disorders in women during reproductive age. Methods We conducted a systematic review and critical assessment of the available evidence pertaining to the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of hirsutism. Results The prevalence of hirsutism is ~10% in most populations, with the important exception of Far-East Asian women who present hirsutism less frequently. Although usually caused by relatively benign functional conditions, with the polycystic ovary syndrome leading the list of the most frequent etiologies, hirsutism may be th…
Femtosecond‑LASIK outcomes using the VisuMax®‑MEL® 80 platform for hyperopia and hyperopic astigmatism refractive surgery
2021
The present study evaluated the efficacy, the safety and the predictability of the Femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (Femto-LASIK) procedure for hyperopia and hyperopic astigmatism. We retrospectively analyzed the postoperative 12-month evolution of 593 eyes with hyperopia and hyperopic astigmatism that underwent Femto-LASIK treatment. The procedure was predictable and effective. No eye lost 2 lines of corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), demonstrating a safety profile of the procedure. Nine percent of the eyes gained at least one line of CDVA. The accuracy of the spherical equivalent after 12 months was 74% within ±1.0 diopter (D) of emmetropia. The refractive outcomes …
Long and fluctuating bone fragments in uterine isthmus: a curious feature of true osseous metaplasia.
2013
Osseous metaplasia in the uterine cavity is a rare phenomenon arising from an unusual transformation of non-osseous connective tissue into mature bone. It is unclear how this alteration occurs and it has no single clinical manifestation. We report a case of asymptomatic endometrial osseous metaplasia of the isthmus with a singular picture: numerous long, floating bone-like structures in the cavity. The lesion was treated by operative hysteroscopy. Histological findings described a rare picture of true osseous metaplasia with the extraordinary presence of cells referable to areas of hematopoietic tissue in the cavities of trabecular bone. Physicians should be more informed and alert regardin…
