Charm quark mass and D-meson decay constants from two-flavour lattice QCD

2013

We present a computation of the charm quark's mass and the leptonic D-meson decay constants f_D and f_{D_s} in two-flavour lattice QCD with non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson quarks. Our analysis is based on the CLS configurations at two lattice spacings (a=0.065 and 0.048 fm, where the lattice scale is set by f_K) and pion masses ranging down to ~ 190 MeV at L*m_pi > 4, in order to perform controlled continuum and chiral extrapolations with small systematic uncertainties.

I=1/2 S -wave and P -wave Kπ scattering and the κ and K* resonances from lattice QCD

2020

We present a lattice-QCD determination of the elastic isospin-$1/2$ $S$-wave and $P$-wave $K\ensuremath{\pi}$ scattering amplitudes as a function of the center-of-mass energy using L\"uscher's method. We perform global fits of $K$-matrix parametrizations to the finite-volume energy spectra for all irreducible representations with total momenta up to $\sqrt{3}\frac{2\ensuremath{\pi}}{L}$; this includes irreducible representations (irreps) that mix the $S$- and $P$-waves. Several different parametrizations for the energy dependence of the $K$-matrix are considered. We also determine the positions of the nearest poles in the scattering amplitudes, which correspond to the broad $\ensuremath{\ka…

Lattice QCD and the timelike pion form factor.

2011

We present a formula that allows one to calculate the pion form factor in the timelike region 2mpi <= sqrt{s} <= 4mpi in lattice QCD. The form factor quantifies the contribution of two-pion states to the vacuum polarization. It must be known very accurately in order to reduce the theoretical uncertainty on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. At the same time, the formula constitutes a rare example where, in a restricted kinematic regime, the spectral function of a conserved current can be determined from Euclidean observables without an explicit analytic continuation.

THE NUCLEON MASS AND PION-NUCLEON SIGMA TERM FROM A CHIRAL ANALYSIS OF Nf = 2 + 1 LATTICE QCD WORLD DATA

2014

Fits of the p4 covariant SU(2) baryon chiral perturbation theory to lattice QCD nucleon mass data from several collaborations for 2 and 2+1 flavors are presented. We consider contributions from explicit Δ(1232) degrees of freedom, finite volume and finite spacing corrections. We emphasize here on our Nf = 2 + 1 study. We obtain low-energy constants of natural size that are compatible with the rather linear pion-mass dependence of the nucleon mass observed in lattice QCD. We report a value of σπN = 41(5)(4) MeV in the 2 flavor case and σπN = 52(3)(8) MeV for 2+1 flavors.

Lattice QCD calculation of the electroweak box diagrams for the kaon semileptonic decays

2021

We present a lattice QCD calculation of the axial $\gamma W$-box diagrams relevant for the kaon semileptonic decays. We utilize a recently proposed method, which connects the electroweak radiative corrections in Sirlin's representation to that in chiral perturbation theory. It allows us to use the axial $\gamma W$-box correction in the SU(3) limit to obtain the low energy constants for chiral perturbation theory. From first principles our results confirm the previously used low energy constants provided by the minimal resonance model with a significant reduction in uncertainties.

Flavor-singlet meson decay constants from Nf=2+1+1 twisted mass lattice QCD

2018

We present an improved analysis of our lattice data for the $\ensuremath{\eta}--{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ system, including a correction of the relevant correlation functions for residual topological finite size effects and employing consistent chiral and continuum fits. From this analysis we update our physical results for the masses ${M}_{\ensuremath{\eta}}=557(11{)}_{\text{stat}}(03{)}_{\ensuremath{\chi}\mathrm{PT}}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$ and ${M}_{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}=911(64{)}_{\text{stat}}(03{)}_{\ensuremath{\chi}\mathrm{PT}}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$, as well as the mixing angle in the quark flavor basis $\ensuremath{\phi}=38.8(2.2{)}_{\text{stat}}…

The nucleon mass and pion-nucleon sigma term from a chiral analysis ofNf= 2 lattice QCD world data

2014

We investigate the pion-mass dependence of the nucleon mass within the covariant SU (2) baryon chiral perturbation theory up to order p 4 with and without explicit Δ (1232) degrees of freedom. We fit lattice QCD data from several collaborations for 2 and 2+1 flavor ensembles. Here, we emphasize our N f = 2 study where the inclusion the Δ (1232) contributions stabilizes the fits. We correct for finite volume and spacing effects, set independently the lattice QCD scale by a Sommer-scale of r 0 = 0.493(23) fm and also include one σ π N lQCD data point at M π ≈ 290 MeV. We obtain low-energy constants of natural size which are compatible with the rather linear pion-mass dependence observed in la…
