Negatively charged lipid molecules were converted into polymerizable lipids by introduction of polymerizable mono- or bifunctional counterions. As an attempt to mimic the cytoskeleton of biomembranes, unsymmetrical polymeric vesicles were prepared, where the polyelectrolyte is attached either only to the inner or to the outer bilayer surfaces. Polymerizable cations were introduced to the outer surface of preformed small unilamellar vesicles via ion-exchange. The outer counterions of vesicles bearing polymerizable counterions at both sides of the membrane were replaced by Na+. Polymerization of these systems leads to unsymmetrical vesicles. A chemically specific and facile method for the immobilization of metal oxide nanoparticles onto the surface of IF-MoS2 nested fullerenes is reported. The modification strategy is based on the chalcophilic affinity of transition metals such as Fe2+/Fe3+, Fe3+, or Zn2+ as described by the Pearson HSAB concept. The binding capabilities of the 3d metals are dictated by their Pearson hardness. Pearson hard cations such as Fe3+ (Fe2O3) do not bind to the chalcogenide surfaces; borderline metals such as Fe2+ (Fe3O4) or Zn2+ (ZnO) bind reversibly. Boundary value problem with integral condition for a Blasius type equation

The steady motion in the boundary layer along a thin flat plate, which is immersed at zero incidence in a uniform stream with constant velocity, can be described in terms of the solution of the differential equation x'''= -xx'', which satisfies the boundary conditions x(0) = x'(0) = 0, x'(∞) = 1. The author investigates the generalized boundary value problem consisting of the nonlinear third-order differential equation x''' = -trx|x|q-1x'' subject to the integral boundary conditions x(0) = x'(0) = 0, x'(∞) = λ∫0ξx(s) ds, where 0 0 is a parameter. Results on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to boundary value problem are established. An illustrative example is provided.

Interaktīvā proza un tās lasītājs-spēlētājs ir samērā jauna tehnokultūras parādība, tāpēc līdz šim maz pētīta. Bakalaura darbā analizēta sešpadsmit lasītāju-spēlētāju identificēšanās ar interaktīvās prozas Viņa Majestātes kuģis “Straujais” autoru vai varoni ar mērķi noteikt sakarību starp lasītāju-spēlētāju identificēšanās tipu un viņu dzimumu, vecumu un interesēm saistībā ar datorspēlēm un literatūru. Lielākā daļa lasītāju-spēlētāju biežāk ir identificējušies ar interaktīvās prozas varoni, savukārt viena vecākās paaudzes lasītāja ar interesi par literatūru galvenokārt ir identificējusies ar interaktīvās prozas autoru.

La resistenza di interfaccia calcestruzzo poroso-terreni a grana fina per il consolidamento di pendii mediante trincee drenanti profonde

Le trincee drenanti profonde rappresentano uno dei metodi più efficaci per la mitigazione del rischio da frana, in pendii con falda idrica. Esse sono realizzate mediante pannelli o pali secanti. Il riempimento è costituito di calcestruzzo poroso o materiale granulare. Se le trincee sono adeguatamente “innestate” nel terreno stabile e il materiale di riempimento ha sufficiente resistenza e rigidezza come il calcestruzzo poroso, si ha ulteriore in-cremento di resistenza a taglio per effetto shear keys, oltre a quello derivante dalla riduzione delle pressioni in-terstiziali. Pervious concrete for deep trench drains used to stabilise slopes must simultaneously satisfy many requirements namely adequate hydraulic conductiv-ity adequate shear strength a few days after pour-ing capacity to act as a protective filter for soils in which the drain is installed good resistance to clog-ging and adequate residual hydraulic conductivity. The pervious concrete with appropriated mix-design can effectively satisfy all the abovementioned requirements. If the trenches depth is such that they intersect the sliding surface and if the trenches are adequate-ly "socket" in the layers of stable soil there is a fur-ther increase in shear strength due to the shear keys effect. This latter is in addition to the increase in shear strength resulting from the reduction of inter-stitial pressures that remains the principal scope of the draining trenches. Obviously the increase of shear strength due to the shear keys effect occurs if the trenches are filled with material that have enough strength and stiffness such as the porous concrete. In this case the beneficial effects of the draining trenches on stability are also due to the resistance at the concrete interface of the trench - soils and to the intrinsic resistance of the concrete at the area of the trench intersected by the sliding surface taken into consideration.The increase in resistance due to the shear keys effect can be very significant in relation to the thickness and interspace of the trenches. Results reported in the paper demonstrated that the interface fine grained soil-pervious concrete is higher than the residual shear strength of the soil.

Demotivators as a new kind of hybrid texts, namely texts combining text with graphics very often refer and allude to the texts embedded in literature and culture. Intertextuality in such texts is realised on the lexical and graphical level. Frequently, winged words form a verbal layer of the demotivators, while a graphical layer refers to the works of art: paintings, films, book illustrations, etc. The authors of the demotivators refer to the literary works, pictures, namely to the works embedded in culture to comment the current events.

Atomic Layer Deposition of Intermetallic Fe4Zn9 Thin Films from Diethyl Zinc

| openaire: EC/H2020/765378/EU//HYCOAT We present a new type of atomic layer deposition (ALD) process for intermetallic thin films, where diethyl zinc (DEZ) serves as a coreactant. In our proof-of-concept study, FeCl3 is used as the second precursor. The FeCl3 + DEZ process yields in situ crystalline Fe4Zn9 thin films, where the elemental purity and Fe/Zn ratio are confirmed by time-of-flight elastic recoil detection analysis (TOF-ERDA), Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analyses.
