Deterministic Modification of CVD Grown Monolayer MoS2 with Optical Pulses

2021

| openaire: EC/H2020/820423/EU//S2QUIP | openaire: EC/H2020/834742/EU//ATOP Transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers have demonstrated a number of exquisite optical and electrical properties. Here, the authors report the optical modification of topographical and optical properties of monolayer MoS2 with femtosecond pulses under an inert atmosphere. A formation of three-dimensional structures on monolayer MoS2 with tunable height up to ≈20 nm is demonstrated. In contrast to unmodified monolayer MoS2, these optically modified structures show significantly different optical properties, such as lower photoluminescence intensity and longer fluorescence lifetime. The results suggest a novel way…

Tribological properties of thin films made by atomic layer deposition sliding against silicon

2018

Interfacial phenomena, such as adhesion, friction, and wear, can dominate the performance and reliability of microelectromechanical (MEMS) devices. Here, thin films made by atomic layer deposition (ALD) were tested for their tribological properties. Tribological tests were carried out with silicon counterpart sliding against ALD thin films in order to simulate the contacts occurring in the MEMS devices. The counterpart was sliding in a linear reciprocating motion against the ALD films with the total sliding distances of 5 and 20 m. Al2O3 and TiO2 coatings with different deposition temperatures were investigated in addition to Al2O3-TiO2-nanolaminate, TiN, NbN, TiAlCN, a-C:H [diamondlike car…

Optimized Deposition of Graphene Oxide Langmuir-Blodgett Thin Films

2014

Abstract Single sheet graphene (SG) is an innovative transparent material with high electrical and thermal conduction the use of which in transparent electrodes instead of traditional materials improves the performance of optoelectronic devices. In this study, graphene oxide (GO) has been obtained by a modified Hummer`s method followed by an advanced technique of water removal (lyophilisation). The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method was applied to transfer GO from suspension to substrate. To optimize the deposition process, as suspending and spreading solvents the benzene and benzene/methanol mixtures were chosen instead of previously studied water suspensions. The number of GO layers in suspens…

Hybridizing large neighborhood search and exact methods for generalized vehicle routing problems with time windows

2021

International audience; Delivery options are at the heart of the generalized vehicle routing problem with time windows (GVRPTW) allowing that customer requests are shipped to alternative delivery locations which can also have different time windows. Recently, the vehicle routing problem with delivery options was introduced into the scientific literature. It extends the GVRPTW by capacities of shared locations and by specifying service-level constraints defined by the customers' preferences for delivery options. The vehicle routing problem with delivery options also generalizes the vehicle routing problem with home roaming delivery locations and the vehicle routing problem with multiple time…

Layered Double Hydroxides: A Toolbox for Chemistry and Biology

2019

Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are an emergent class of biocompatible inorganic lamellar nanomaterials that have attracted significant research interest owing to their high surface-to-volume ratio, the capability to accumulate specific molecules, and the timely release to targets. Their unique properties have been employed for applications in organic catalysis, photocatalysis, sensors, drug delivery, and cell biology. Given the widespread contemporary interest in these topics, time-to-time it urges to review the recent progresses. This review aims to summarize the most recent cutting-edge reports appearing in the last years. It firstly focuses on the application of LDHs as catalysts in re…

Structural and electronic properties of ion-exchangeable layered perovskites

2013

The modification of metal oxide surfaces with organic moieties has been widely studied as a method of preparing organic-inorganic hybrid materials for various applications. Among inorganic oxides, the ion-exchangeable layered perovskites, materials composed by perovskite-like slabs (ABO3, in which B is a small transition metal cation and A is a larger s-, d- or f-block cation) and intercalated cations, stimulated authors’ interest in reason of some encouraging electronic and reactive properties. In particular it is well known that the interlayer surface of layered-perovskites in their protonated form can be easily functionalized with organic groups, such as alcohols, organophosphonic acids,…

Functionalization of a layered oxide with organic moieties: towards hybrid proton conductors

2014

The design of innovative proton conductors for intermediate-temperature fuel cells, closing the gap between PEMFC and SOFC, is a forefront research theme in materials chemistry. [1] Layered perovskites with the Dion-Jacobson structure (ALaNb2O7) have bidimensional lanthanum niobate sheets, separated by a layer of A+ cations. These can be substituted by a variety of molecules with soft chemistry, to yield inorganic-organic hybrids. In particular, the intercalation of amines, alcohols, carboxylic or phosphonic acids, and their covalent binding to the sheets has been demonstrated recently. [2-4]We present preliminary results on the intercalation and covalent bonding of different organic molecu…

Interpersonal dynamics in 2-vs-1 contexts of football: the effects of field location and player roles

2019

This study analyzed the spatial-temporal interactions that sustained 2-vs-1 contexts in football at different field locations near the goal. Fifteen male players (under 15 years, age 13.2 ± 1.03 years, years of practice 4.2 ± 1.10 years), 5 defenders, 7 midfielders, and 3 attackers, participated in the study. Each participant performed a game to simulate a 2-vs-1 sub-phase as a ball carrier, second attacker, and defender at three different field locations, resulting in a total number of 142 trials. The movements of participants in each trial were recorded and digitized with TACTO software. Values of interpersonal distance between the ball carrier and defender and interpersonal angles betwee…
