Pieni matkakertomus Afrikasta
2013
Loppujen lopuksi minusta tuli ihan hyvä etnologi: olen kuluneiden 20 vu…

Through illustrated magazines and the press, an increasing number of readers were receiving this type of informal education through stories and children's stories in which the protagonists were children with whom the reader could easily identify. The objective of this article is to analyze the stories and children's stories published in the decennial magazine El Mundo de los Niños –The World of Children– (1887-1891), to make an approximation to Spanish society at the end of the 19th century and its values. The method used was the content analysis, in which grouped by …
Approaching Economic Inequality through Late Medieval Tax Records: Valls (1378), Sevile (1384) and Palma (1478)
2017
Wealth inequality in pre-industrial societies is a newly reinvigorated topic in economic history. Late medieval historians, particularly those of Iberia, face the challenge to catch up with their early modern counterparts. This proves completely possible due to the existence of analytic methods already developed in economics, as well as tax sources based on patrimony estimates of tax-payers. With the aim of addressing such a topic, this essay analyses three cases coming from various late medieval Iberian populations: Valls (1378), Seville (1384) and Palma (1478). In the case of Valls and Sevile the evidence has been based on transcriptions of available material, while for Palma we have stud…
2016
This paper aims to study the platonic «communism» as an utopian project which was never carried out. We survey the misnamed platonic communism and its forced relationship, with modern communism, which we analyze in depth. Besides that, by reviewing modern authors, we attempt to compare platonic communism with Marxism, searching for its beginning and causes, as well as its socio-politic aspects. Besides, we bear in mind the historical context where it appeared: Athens in the 5th century BC.

Poder Real Africano. Propaganda y legitimación de Juba I (ca. 60-46 a. C.) a través de sus emisiones helenísticas
2019
I. This paper aims to present a state of the question about the coins struck by Juba I, king of Numidia. Historically we find ourselves before the Sec…

This article analyzes the changes that the discipli…
A Roof Tile from 1678 Found in Calasparra (Murcia) as an Abiding Medium of Writing
2017
Analysis of a red clay roof tile which bears an heretofore unknown inscription of the late 'procesal' script style and humanistic characters along with the date 1678, marking its exact year of manufacture. This tile was found on the roof of an old barn structure in ruins, located on 'Horno de Calasparra' Street (Murcia), before its demolition. We will also point out some of the more significant aspects of the historic profession of tile making, which has all but disappeared.
