Artificial cartilage bio-matrix formed of hyaluronic acid and Mg2+-polyphosphate.

Here we show that inorganic polyphosphate (polyP), a polyanionic metabolic regulator consisting of multiple phosphate residues linked by energy-rich phosphoanhydride bonds, is present in the synovial fluid. In a biomimetic approach, to enhance cartilage synthesis and regeneration, we prepared amorphous polyP microparticles with Mg2+ as counterions. The particles were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopic (FTIR) analyses. Prevention of lumbar reherniation by the intraoperative use of a radiofrequency bipolar device: A case-control study.

Objective: The most common complication after lumbar discectomy is reherniation. Although many studies have investigated factors that may increase the reherniation risk, few are agreed upon all. It has been suggested that limited nucleus removal is associated with higher reherniation risk, while more aggressive nucleus removal can result in increased disc degeneration. Significance of I313V mutation of NLPR3 gene in two pediatric patients

Results Both case #1 (M.T) and #2 (V.C) displayed a mild clinical phenotype (episodes of urticarial rash and arthralgia associated with elevation of acute phase reactants), compatible with FCAS and Muckle-Wells syndrome, respectively. Both patients displayed good response to NSAID and/or steroid on demand. Compared to HD controls, patients displayed enhanced and delayed IL1b secretion. This was accompanied by higher levels of lL1Ra and IL-6 without any significant differences in IL-8. Background: The aim of this manuscript was to describe the effects of alcohol ingestion on recovery following resistance exercise. Methods: A literature search was performed using the following database: Web of Science, NLM Pubmed, and Scopus. Studies regarding alcohol consumption after resistance exercise evaluating recovery were considered for investigation. The main outcomes took into account biological, physical and cognitive measures. We conducted a systematic review of studies regarding UI in female athletes less than 19 years of age.
