[ES] Se estudia la labor de Joseph Ricarte, pensionado en París y luego en Centroeuropa, para estudiar el método de amalgamación de Born. El trabajo de Ricarte fue especialmente interesante en la Escuela de minas de Schemnitz, a cargo del profesor Antón Ruprecht, en 1787, aunque también se exponen los viajes de aprendizaje con Andrés Manuel del Río por diversas regiones centroeuropeas (Alta y baja Hungría, Austria, Bohemia,etc...) hasta su llegada a Freiberg, en Sajonia, donde estudiaron con A. Werner y fueron compañeros de Alexander von Humboldt. Acompaña al artículo una disertación de Ricarte sobre las mejoras introducidas por Ruprecht al método del barón de Born.

The Estación de Patología Vegetal de Burjassot (Valencia), created in 1924, carried out important activities related to the control of pests, in varied fronts as original research, adaptation of techniques, and popularization. The biological control was highly practiced, and it was centered on orange pests. The chemical control of pests was also developed in this center.

This article seeks to understand how people in the early modern age interpreted the nature of illness and the role that morality played in these interpretations. From this point of view illnesses were not only psycho-physical states or subjects for medical diagnosis but they were also subjects for narratives or stories through which people tried to understand what had caused their illness, and why it was happening to them. Illnesses were understood as strictly connected with the patient's character and were regarded as possible consequences of his personality. The present article focuses on the reconstruction of the cosmological models from the school of Kashmir (fourth century), as they are registered in the compendium of sarvāstivāda-vaibhāsika school, attributed to the Buddhist monk Vasubandhu and titled Abhidharmakośabhāsya. The articles identifies the different textual sources of the cosmological models and describes its general structure, based in three realms (sensible, subtle matter and immaterial). It analyzes the relevant characteristics of the concepts of Space and Time, discovering and unusual model in comparison with the contemporaries cosmologies from the Mediterranean.

The article consist of two parts. The first is a summary of the treaty in which the main ideas about diseases analysed by the doctor Peset and Vidal are presented. The second part is a comparative analysis of the text for which the author has consulted many books and other material of those days, as well as medical dictionaries. As a result of it, the author presents the "gastralgia" as a digestive neurosis.

This paper analyzes the medicalization process of suicide in Spain during the 19th century. It describes the transition of suicide seen as an act of free will to a model, developed by mental doctors, which considered it a pathological behavior. Against this model, other conservative positions from the fields of Law and Medicine continued to defend the traditional view. The initial interest of mental medicine regarding the social aspects of suicide was developed during this period.
