Technikum dla przodujących robotników w polskim systemie szkolnictwa zawodowego (1971-1982)
2018
W okresie PRL-u z inicjatywy PZPR powstało w 1971 r. technikum dla przodujących robotników. Uchwała nr 124 Rady Ministrów z dnia 1 lipca 1971 r. dała robotnikom możliwość zdobycia kwalifikacji zawodowych i uzyskania świadectwa dojrzałości po dwuletnim okresie edukacji. Takich szkół powstało ponad 30 w skali całego kraju. Do placówek tych kierowano wyróżniających się aktywną postawą społeczno-zawodową robotników, absolwentów zasadniczych szkół zawodowych. Celem ich było przygotowanie dla gospodarki narodowej dobrych fachowców, ale również aktywnych działaczy partyjnych. Rozpoczęły one pracę dydaktyczną we wrześniu 1971 r. Stworzono w nich bardzo dobre warunki uczenia się dorosłym uczniom, za…
Foreign language anxiety : the case of young learners of English in Swedish primary classrooms
2019
Although foreign language anxiety is a widely studied construct assumed to develop from negative experiences of language instruction, few researchers have focused on young learners in this regard. This multiple case study investigates levels and triggers of language anxiety in Swedish primary classrooms under rather favorable learning conditions with a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere, and without formal knowledge requirements or grades. A total of 225 learners, aged 8–12, studying English as their first foreign language completed a self-report questionnaire, a modified version of the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (Horwitz, Horwitz, & Cope, 1986), eliciting learners’ reacti…
Oppilaiden kanssa vastuuta jakamassa : peruskoulun kahdeksannen luokan oppilaiden autonomian vahvistaminen englannin oppitunneilla samanaikaisopetuks…
2016
The aim of this ethnographic and autoethnographic research was to explore what kind of a learning culture existed in an 8th grade English class in a Finnish basic education school in the 2011-2012 academic year. The class was taught jointly by a subject teacher and a special education teacher. A teaching experiment was implemented with the support of co-teaching during which teachers aimed to strengthen students' learning autonomy: to support their active learning and help them act as responsible learners. The research data included participant observation notes, interviews of a subject teacher and students, and different kinds of documents produced by teachers and students during the imple…
Beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers toward driving and avoiding driving through floodwater
2023
Driving through floodwater is a significant cause of flood-related injury and mortality, and opportunities exist to embed safe driving messages regarding floodwaters to novice drivers in graduated driver licensing schemes. To inform future educational efforts, we investigated the beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers about driving and avoiding driving through floodwaters. Methods: The study adopted a cross-sectional correlational design with measures drawn from the theory of planned behaviour and administered within an online survey. Phase 1 (N = 44 learner drivers) aimed to identify the core beliefs associated with driving through floodwater. Phase 2 (N = 250 learner drivers)…
Young University Students’ Academic Self-Regulation Profiles and Their Associated Procrastination: Autonomous Functioning Requires Self-Regulated Ope…
2020
Students' autonomous self-regulation requires not only self-motivation but also volition or transforming motivation into specific behavioral intentions and following through. Self-regulation includes self-motivation (i.e., goal setting, learning from mistakes) and volitional regulation (i.e., strategic decision making). Furthermore, individual differences, like trait-level perseverance, significantly influence both motivation and volition. Procrastination has been defined as a volitional self-regulation problem, which involves delaying what one had intended to do, in spite of being motivated, and regardless of anticipating adverse consequences. Thus, it is a tendency toward dysregulated beh…
Learning to read for the first time as adult immigrants in Finland : Reviewing pertinent research of low-literate or non-literate learners’ literacy …
2018
Against the backdrop of increasing global humanitarian migration to highly literate countries and the resulting necessity and challenge to provide language and literacy education to non-literate or low-literate adult second language (L2) learners, this article calls for more research on a new population of late literacy learners, particularly in Finland. The article begins by outlining the pressing necessity for research on this special group of L2 learners who has traditionally been ignored by Second Language Acquisition (SLA) research. It will then go on to illuminate essential components of developing reading literacy, drawing on relevant previous research on pre-literates. Further, the …
Scaffolding adult immigrant students in an EFL lesson
2012
Oppimisprosessi on luonteeltaan enemmänkin sosiaalinen kuin yksilöllinen. Tämä lähestymistapa on hyödyllinen myös aikuisille maahanmuuttajaopiskelijoille, koska sosiokulttuuriseen näkemykseen perustuvassa oppimisympäristössä he oppivat sekä oppiainetta että perehtyvät yhteiskunnan kulttuuriin, johon he sopeutuvat turvallisessa ja kannustavassa ympäristössä muiden seurassa. Sosiokulttuurisen teorian mukaan oppiminen on opettajan ja opiskelijoiden välisen vuorovaikutuksen seuraus, joka tapahtuu opiskelijoiden lähikehityksen vyöhykkeellä (the zone of proximal development, ZPD). Lähikehityksen vyöhyke on oppimisen todellisen kehitystason ja potentiaalisen kehitystason välinen ero. Toisin sanoen…
De la perception de la voyelle /y/ chez des apprenants polonais du français langue étrangère
2019
The main objective of this study is to test the perception of the vowel /y/ among the Polish learners of FLE, as it does not exist in their natural vowel system. We defend the hypothesis that optimal perception conditions can make the identification and acquisition of new sounds more intelligible.
SEMANTIC AND CONTEXTUAL APPROACH FOR THE RECOMMENDATION OF LEARNING MODULES IN MOBILITY
2012
International audience; Many researchers argue that mobile learning is just an adaptation of e-learning on mobile technology, but far from a simple extension of e-learning, m-learning raises original issues in technological and pedagogical terms. M-learning is usually based on the consideration of a context rich on information and interactions. The challenge of m-learning is therefore, not simply to transfer on mobile content designed primarily for e-learning. This concept implies that we must rethink the entire process of the learning experience in mobility to maximize its efficiency.
Recommender system for combination of learning elements in mobile environment
2012
5 pages; International audience; The paper presents an ongoing research about the development of a new recommender system dedicated to m-learning. This system is an extension of content based recommender system proposals. It's made of three levels architecture: 1/ a domain model describing the knowledge of teaching, 2/ a user model defining learner's profile and learning's context, 3/ an adaptation model containing rules and metaheuristics, which aims at combining learning modules. Our system takes into account the spatio-temporal context of the learners, the evolution of learner's profile and the dynamic adaptation of modules during the learning process in a mobile environment. The result …
