Personality correlates and gender invariance of wording effects in the German version of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale

The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) is designed to provide an evaluation of one's self-worth. Investigations on the dimensionality of the RSES do not result in simple unifactorial solutions. The direction of the item wording has been suggested as a reason for the contamination of its factorial structure. Latent factor approaches allow for the modeling of method effects, and, particularly in bifactor models, configurations with substantive as well as additional specific factors can be specified. AQM generalized nyquist stability in multiple bottleneck networks

Abstract The influence of multiple bottlenecks on the stability of Active Queue Management (AQM) controllers, usually configured on a single bottleneck basis is discussed. We consider a network scenario where RED is configured at each router according to previously developed control theoretic techniques. These configuration rules assure stability in a single bottleneck scenario. We show that instability may arise when two links become congested. We justify this result through a multiple bottleneck model using the Generalized Nyquist stability criterion.

A Discrete Model for a Network Having Broken Packages

Broken packages are packages with not enough information regarding the destination address and they have a negative impact on a computer network. Broken packages stay in the router too much time and overload it. This is a real problem which appears in the computer network of Sofia University. We know only the time when a broken package arrives in the router. The problem is to find the computer which send broken packages. The aim of this article is to propose a model for defining the data transmission stability and correctness in a computer network. Our theoretical model is temporal dependent and captures the transmission properties of a computer network.
Adaptive control of a class of strict-feedback time-varying nonlinear systems with unknown control coefficients

Abstract In this paper, robust adaptive control of a class of strict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown control directions is investigated. A novel Nussbaum-type function is developed and a key theorem is drawn which involves quantifying the addition of multiple Nussbaum functions with different control directions in a single inequality. Global stability of the closed-loop system and asymptotic stabilization of system output are proved. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
The PCHIP subdivision scheme

In this paper we propose and analyze a nonlinear subdivision scheme based on the monotononicity-preserving third order Hermite-type interpolatory technique implemented in the PCHIP package in Matlab. We prove the convergence and the stability of the PCHIP nonlinear subdivision process by employing a novel technique based on the study of the generalized Jacobian of the first difference scheme. Abstract Multiresolution representations of data are powerful tools in signal processing. In Harten’s framework, multiresolution transforms are defined by predicting finer resolution levels of information from coarser ones using an operator, called the prediction operator, and defining details (or wavelet coefficients) that are the difference between the exact values and the predicted values. In this paper we present a multiresolution scheme using local polynomial regression theory in order to design a more accurate prediction operator. Logical Consensus for Distributed Network Agreement

In this paper we introduce a novel consensus mechanism where agents of a network are able to share logical values, or Booleans, representing their local opinions on e.g. the presence of an intruder or of a fire within an indoor environment. Under suitable joint conditions on agents? visibility and communication capability, we provide an algorithm generating a logical linear consensus system that is globally stable.
