Il contributo ha per oggetto le scelte interpuntive di Leopardi con una prospettiva più strettamente linguistica, collocandosi nell’ambito dei lavori che, a partire dai primi anni del Duemila, sono stati dedicati alle funzioni dei vari segni interpuntivi. Ci si sofferma prima sulle riflessioni metalinguistiche relative alla punteggiatura, quali emergono dall’epistolario e dallo Zibaldone, ricostruendo quale potesse essere il background teorico a cui Leopardi faceva riferimento, e ci si concentra poi su un’analisi quantitativa e qualitativa dei vari segni di interpunzione dei Canti, facendo interagire riflessione metalinguistica e scelte testuali su questo preciso aspetto della lingua centra…

The main target of this paper was to compare the poem Kavkazkij plennik (1821) by A. Puskin and Canto notturno di un pastore errante dell’Asia (1830) by G. Leopardi, in order to stress the different ways to deal with two important topics of the European Romanticism: freedom and roaming. This comparison is based on the analysis of three common elements: imprisonment, space and the two heroines, i.e. the girl and the moon. As for the first element the aim was to highlight the different attitudes and reactions to imprisonment of the two heroes. The Greek poet Kostìs Palamàs (Patrai, 1859- Athens, 1943) had long acquaintance with Italian literature which marked his critical thought . The results of this deep influence can be evidenced when interpreting authors and trends in modern Greek literature. In this paper, Palamàs’ comparative reading of Solomòs (Zakynthos,1978 – Kerkyra, 1857) and Leopardi is confirmed by means of a philological analysis of Solomos’ autographs, and new hints are given to a reassessment of Solomos’ role in the broader context of European Romanticisms.
