Leptoquark toolbox for precision collider studies

We implement scalar and vector leptoquark (LQ) models in the universal FeynRules output (UFO) format assuming the Standard Model fermion content and conservation of baryon and lepton numbers. Scalar LQ implementations include next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections. We report the NLO QCD inclusive cross sections in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV, 14 TeV, and 27 TeV for all on-shell LQ production processes. These comprise (i) LQ pair production ($p p \to \Phi \Phi$) and (ii) single LQ + lepton production ($p p \to \Phi \ell$) for all initial quark flavours ($u$, $d$, $s$, $c$, and $b$). Search for scalar bottom quarks and third-generation leptoquarks in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV

We report the results of a search for pair production of scalar bottom quarks ((b) over bar (1)) and scalar third-generation leptoquarks (LQ(3)) in 5.2 fb(-1) of p (p) over bar collisions at the D0 experiment of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Scalar bottom quarks are assumed to decay to a neutralino ((chi) over bar (1)(0)) and a b quark, and we set 95% C.L. lower limits on their production in the (m((b) over bar1), m((chi) over bar 10)) mass plane such as m((b) over bar1) > 247 GeV for m( 10) = 0 and m((chi) over bar 10) > 110 GeV for 160 m(<(b) over bar1) < 200 GeV. Search for third generation vector leptoquarks inpp¯collisions ats=1.96 TeV

We search for a third generation vector leptoquark (VLQ3) that decays to a b quark and tau lepton using the CDF II detector and 320pb-1 of integrated luminosity from the Fermilab Tevatron. Observing a number of events in agreement with standard model expectations, we obtain, assuming Yang-Mills (minimal) couplings, the most stringent upper limit on the VLQ3 pair production cross section of 344 fb (493 fb) and lower limit on the VLQ3 mass of 317GeV/c2 (251GeV/c2) at 95% C.L. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Despite its phenomenal success, the Standard Model is not expected to be a complete description of nature all the way up to the Planck scale where quantum gravity comes into play. As the collider at the current energy frontier, the LHC is in a unique position to look for signals of physics beyond the Standard Model. In this chapter, results from the first run of the LHC are surveyed that go beyond the supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model discussed in the previous chapter. Search for scalar leptoquarks and T-odd quarks in the acoplanar jet topology using of collision data at

A search for new physics in the acoplanar jet topology has been performed in 2.5 fb(-1) of data from p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV, recorded by the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The numbers of events with exactly two acoplanar jets and missing transverse energy are in good agreement with the Standard Model expectations. The result of this search has been used to set a lower mass limit of 205 GeV at the 95% C.L. on the mass of a scalar leptoquark when this particle decays exclusively into a quark and a neutrino. We revisit the physics of neutrino magnetic moments, focusing in particular on the case where the right-handed, or sterile, neutrinos are heavier (up to several MeV) than the left-handed Standard Model neutrinos. The discussion is centered around the idea of detecting an upscattering event mediated by a transition magnetic moment in a neutrino or dark matter experiment. Considering neutrinos from all known sources, as well as including all available data from XENON1T and Borexino, we derive the strongest up-to-date exclusion limits on the active-to-sterile neutrino transition magnetic moment. A beyond the standard model portal scenario for Majorana fermion dark matter (DM) particle with leptoquark being the mediator field is of the main focus of this study. We explore the parameter space of the only unknown coupling in the model which is sensitive to all three main features of a DM model, namely, relic density, direct detection as well as indirect detection, while being consistent with the collider searches. The AMS-02 data for antiproton flux imposes stringent bound till date which excludes the DM mass up to \(400\,\)GeV at 95% C.L. Search for New Physics with a Dijet Plus MissingETSignature inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV

We present results of a signature-based search for new physics using a dijet plus missing transverse energy (E{sub T}) data sample collected in 2 fb{sup -1} of p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We observe no significant event excess with respect to the standard model prediction and extract a 95% C.L. upper limit on the cross section times acceptance for a potential contribution from a non-standard model process. Based on this limit the mass of a potential first or second generation scalar leptoquark is constrained to be above 187 GeV/c{sup 2}.
Limits on the production of scalar leptoquarks from $Z^0$ decays at LEP

A search has been made for pairs and for single production of scalar leptoquarks of the first and second generations using a data sample of 392000 Z0 decays from the DELPHI detector at LEP 1. No signal was found and limits on the leptoquark mass, production cross section and branching ratio were set. A mass limit at 95% confidence level of 45.5 GeV/c2 was obtained for leptoquark pair production. The search for the production of a single leptoquark probed the mass region above this limit and its results exclude first and second generation leptoquarks D0 with masses below 65 GeV/c2 and 73 GeV/c2 respectively, at 95% confidence level, assuming that the D0lq Yukawa coupling alpha(lambda) is equ…
