Verba mihi desunt.
2021
In Tr. 3.14.46, Ovid laments his decrease in Latin knowledge, concluding that he almost unlearned his mother tongue (uerba mihi desunt dedidicique loqui) and in Tr. 5.7b.55-64 he confesses the decline of his language skills caused by disuse. Moreover, he states that he has learned to speak in Getic to the point of having composed a Geticum libellum (Pont. 4.13.17-23). So, in Ovidian exilic poetry we can observe the elegiac representation of “language attrition”, consisting in a gradual decline or loss of language proficiency, in conjunction with long-lasting contact with foreign languages. But the linguistic adeptness emerging in Ibis and generally in the exilic corpus shows no sign of attr…
«Was not the labour problem the same everywhere».
2019
The purpose of this research is to catalogue the biblical texts - notably in a first phase those which are in the first (or old) testament of the Christian Bible - which contain both prescriptive structures and pathways designed to protect the position of social weakness of the "worker", understood in its broadest sense and in its various and diverse facets: worker, salaried employee, servant, even slave, and so on. The starting point and most immediate objective of this work is therefore to find the biblical sources - and to get ready one first critical apparatus - which refer, directly or indirectly, to work in a broad sense, that is a personal relationship in which one of the two subject…

Rewriting Romance in the Second Half of 20th Century in Italy
2013
Many authors in the last century offer us the possibility to look at romance through their rewriting of Italian tradition, but they also offer the possibility to look at rewriting through romance. A systematic examination of every single work would need an article itself. Here the focus is rather on the phenomenon and its implications with tradition and its transformations; and on the intellectual context where they take place. Despite the very core of the poetics of rewriting can be located between the Sixties and the Eighties, these palimpsests go further, into the Nineties. From Calvino, Manganelli and Sanguineti, to Celati, Bufalino and Santagata, we are able to look at different declen…

2016
This article aims to analyse Francesco Maria Molza’s not certainly attributed novella VII. Even though the text was inspired by one of Franco Sacchetti’s short stories, in the final section the author inserted a quotation-translation of Poggio Bracciolini’s facezia 143. The quotations, translations and reworkings of Bracciolini’s text demonstrate the Renaissance writer’s narrative and stylistic abilities.
