The domestic water buffalo is native to the Asian continent but through historical migrations and recent importations, nowadays has a worldwide distribution. The two types of water buffalo, i.e., river and swamp, display distinct morphological and behavioral traits, different karyotypes and also have different purposes and geographical distributions. In order to enhance the consumption of bitter and strong tasting vegetables such as cabbages and root vegetables, it is required to identify potential mediators of sociodemographic–diet relationships. Minerality in wines: mental expectations of Swiss and French consumers

Today the concept of minerality in wines is omnipresent. It appears in marketing discourses, in oenological critics and commercial communication. However, there is no common agreement on a general definition. This paper aims to study the different expectations that Swiss and French consumers have about minerality. The multidimensionality of the term is reflected through stereotypes like the odor of flint, the impression of "sucking a stone", or referring to acidity or to the Terroir. Thus, the term minerality appears as a unstable concept and providing a precise definition remains consequently difficult for many consumers.

International audience; Modified nucleotide 5-methylcytosine (m(5)C) is frequently present in various eukaryotic RNAs, including tRNAs, rRNAs and in other non-coding RNAs, as well as in mRNAs. RNA: m(5)C-methyltranferases (MTases) Nop2 from S. cerevisiae and human proliferation-associated nucleolar antigen p120 are both members of a protein family called Nop2/NSUN/NOL1. Protein p120 is well-known as a tumor marker which is over-expressed in various cancer tissues. Absolute quantification of noncoding RNA by microscale thermophoresis

Abstract Accurate quantification of the copy numbers of noncoding RNA has recently emerged as an urgent problem, with impact on fields such as RNA modification research, tissue differentiation, and others. Herein, we present a hybridization‐based approach that uses microscale thermophoresis (MST) as a very fast and highly precise readout to quantify, for example, single tRNA species with a turnaround time of about one hour. Research shows that gender inequality is still a major issue in academic science, yet academic societies may serve as underappreciated and effective avenues for promoting female leadership.
