This study profiles managers according to the ethical criteria they bring to their managerial decision making. Profiling was based on exploratory cluster analysis of responses of academics & students and small business managers to a multidimensional questionnaire. The data were collected through a self-reporting survey (n=82) administrated to the two cohorts. An agglomerative hierarchical cluster analysis was then performed to the two groups separately on the 8 ethical subscales from the Managerial Ethical Profile (MEP). The intent of this research was to find out what is the state of Finnish energy policy when reviewing it from the vantage point of biogas as a motor vehicle fuel. It seemed, according to previous research, that Finnish energy policy is lead by an elite and that there was a lack in transparency of energy policy. Laskentatoimi ja etiikka : vertailua rahastonhoitajien ja tilintarkastajien eettisten arvojen välillä

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa tilintarkastajien ja rahastonhoitajien eettisyyttä kyselyhaastattelun keinoin. Lisäksi tavoitteena oli selvittää vastaajien saama eettinen koulutus ja sen vaikutukset heidän eettisyyteensä sekä aikaisempaan tutkimukseen perustuen, mitä eettisiä arvoja vastaajat pitivät tärkeimpinä ammattinsa kannalta. Kyselyyn vastasi yhteensä 75 henkilöä, joista 41 oli tilintarkastajia ja 34 rahastonhoitajia. Tutkimukseen valitut henkilöt edustivat eri organisaatioita kattavan kokonaiskuvan saamiseksi kahdelta toimialalta. Arvioiden mukaan lähivuosina yli kolmannes maailman ihmisistä käyttää englannin kieltä. Tämä on jo vuosia näkynyt ja tulee myös tulevaisuudessa yhä enemmän näkymään kansainvälisessä liike-elämässä, jossa englantia käytetään lingua francana. Eritoten englannin suullinen taito, kuten julkinen puhuminen ja small talk, näyttelevät suurta roolia tässä kontekstissa. Huomionarvoista on kuitenkin se, että hyvin usein liike-elämän kieli- ja viestintäkoulutuksen opetusmateriaalit epäonnistuvat valmistamaan kansainvälisen liike-elämän toimijoita tosielämän tilanteisiin.
