Collision de similaritons optiques dans un amplificateur optique fibré Raman

National audience; Nous abordons les aspects théoriques et expérimentaux de la génération et propagation de deux similaritons optiques de fréquences centrales différentes dans un amplificateur optique fibré Raman à dispersion normale. Nous observons les effets intervenant durant la collision des deux similaritons: un battement sinusoïdal apparaît dans la zone de recouvrement temporel des impulsions et des effets de la modulation de phase croisée modifient le spectre des similaritons. Les similaritons retrouvent néanmoins, après collision, leurs caractéristiques paraboliques.

This thesis deals with extremes statistics which has become an attractive subject in optics since a comparison with oceanic rogue waves has been proposed at the end of 2007. We report some potential mechanisms stimulating the rogue wave formation in the context of guided propagation of light in optical fibers. Benford's law has been promoted as providing the auditors with a turnkey solution for fraud detection. The purpose of this paper is to show it is not always possible to detect fraudulent sales with that law. We use sales in volume of game consoles in Japan (since 1989), in United-States, in France, in Germany and in United-Kingdom (since 2000). After reviewing briefly the literature and our study design, the chi-square test and the bias analysis were used to measure the goodness-of-fit to Benford's law. Multispectral images are acquired using multispectral cameras equipped with CCD or CMOS sensors which sample the visible or near infrared spectrum according to specific spectral bands. A mosaic of multispectral MSFA filters is superimposed on the surface of the sensors to acquire a raw image called an MSFA image. This thesis is devoted to the study of dynamics induced by intense femtoseconds lasers pulses. The first studied dynamics deals with molecular alignment of CO2-X mixtures (X=CO2, Ar, N2), in dense gases (up to 20 bar). Up to now, this regime has never been studied experimentally. In the field-free regime (after laser/matter interaction), molecular alignment exhibits two components : a permanent alignment and a transient one. Fay's identity on Riemann surfaces is a powerful tool in the context of algebro-geometric solutions to integrable equations. This relation generalizes a well-known identity for the cross-ratio function in the complex plane. It allows to establish relations between theta functions and their derivatives. This offers a complementary approach to algebro-geometric solutions of integrable equations with certain advantages with respect to the use of Baker-Akhiezer functions.
