Jo 1990-luvun alussa yhdysvaltalainen taloustieteilijä Robert Reich (1992) esitti, että tulevaisuudessa globaalit työmarkkinat tulevat jakautumaan kolmeen osaan: rutiinityöhön, palvelutyöhön sekä symbolis-analyyttiseen työhön, joka perustuu ympäröivästä ilmiömaailmasta hahmottuvien ongelmien tunnistamiseen ja ratkaisemiseen. Bakalaura darba tēma ir aviokatastrofu atveidojuma ētiskie aspekti ziņu portālu apollo.lv, delfi.lv un tvnet.lv publikāciju vizuālajos materiālos. Darba galvenais mērķis ir noskaidrot kā pētījumā apskatīto ziņu portālu publikāciju titulbildēs atveidotas traģiskākās 2014. gadā notikušās aviokatastrofas un kādu nozīmi tās piedēvē aviokatastrofām. Datu ieguvei un analīzei pielietota semiotiskā analīze, daļēji strukturētas intervijas un kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze. Darba teorētiskajā daļā apskatītas teorijas par ziņu komercializāciju, fotožurnālistikas ētiku, interneta žurnālistiku un nāves un katastrofu atveidošanu medijos. Darba empīriskajā daļā analizētas publikāciju titulbildes un intervijas.

Predicting Individual Differences from Brain Responses to Music using Functional Network Centrality

Individual differences are known to modulate brain responses to music. Recent neuroscience research suggests that each individual has unique and fundamentally stable functional brain connections irrespective of the task they perform. 77 participants’ functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) responses were measured while continuously listening to music. Using a graph-theory-based approach, we modeled whole-brain functional connectivity. We then calculate voxel-wise eigenvector centrality and subsequently use it to classify gender and musical expertise using binary Support Vector Machine (SVM).
