Strength and Latency of the HP-SAP Closed Loop Variability Interactions in Subjects Prone to Develop Postural Syncope

The coupling and latency between heart period (HP) and systolic arterial pressure (SAP) variability can be investigated along the two arms of the HP-SAP closed loop, namely along the baroreflex feedback from SAP to HP, and along the feedforward pathway from HP to SAP. Although in physiological conditions RR interval and systolic arterial pressure (SAP) are likely to interact in a closed loop, the traditional cross-spectral analysis cannot distinguish feedback (FB) from feedforward (FF) influences. In this study, a causal approach was applied for calculating the coherence from SAP to RR ( Ks-r) and from RR to SAP ( Kr-s) and the gain and phase of the baroreflex transfer function. SummaryReprogramming of somatic cells into neurons provides a new approach toward cell-based therapy of neurodegenerative diseases. A major challenge for the translation of neuronal reprogramming into therapy is whether the adult human brain contains cell populations amenable to direct somatic cell conversion. Cold loops applied to bipolar resectoscope: A safe "one-step" myomectomy for treatment of submucosal myomas with intramural development

AIM: To assess the safety and efficacy of cold loop myomectomy applied to bipolar resectoscope to perform "one-step" myomectomy of submucosal myomas with intramural involvement. METHODS: Seventy-two patients with at least one symptomatic G1 or G2 myoma (Wamsteker's classification) underwent cold loop myomectomy from January 2011 to January 2013. All surgical procedures were performed using a 26Fr resectoscope and bipolar energy source. At one month after the procedure, all patients underwent an office hysteroscopy check-up. Purpose: To compare loop excisions of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN 2+) under video exoscopy, or colposcopic guidance, with respect to safety and effectiveness. Methods: Prospective multicentric randomized trial of 300 patients, undergoing loop excision for CIN 2+ either under video exoscopy (group A) or colposcope (group B) guidance. The classical digital pulse width modulator (D-PWM), using digital analog converter (DAC), is replaced with a Sigma-Delta (/spl Sigma//spl Delta/) modulator based on pulse frequency modulator (PFM) technique. Generalized hypergeometric functions and the evaluation of scalar one-loop integrals in Feynman diagrams

Present and future high-precision tests of the Standard Model and beyond for the fundamental constituents and interactions in Nature are demanding complex perturbative calculations involving multi-leg and multi-loop Feynman diagrams. Currently, large effort is devoted to the search for closed expressions of loop integrals, written whenever possible in terms of known - often hypergeometric-type - functions. In this work, the scalar three-point function is re-evaluated by means of generalized hypergeometric functions of two variables. Finally, use is made of the connection between such Appell functions and dilogarithms coming from a previous investigation, to recover well-known results.
