Evaluation of the psychometric properties of “the Norwegian screening test for dyslexia”

The aim of this study was to develop and investigate the psychometric properties of a screening protocol for Norwegian students in upper secondary school. The protocol was designed to assess skills that are at stake in dyslexia. It was administered to 232 students. In the absence of a “gold standard,” comparisons were made between students who reported normal literacy skills (n = 184) and literacy problems (n = 48). Significant group differences were found across all areas. Logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analyses demonstrated good discriminatory power. Tutkimuksessani otan selvää siitä, millaisia taitoja Kaustisen musiikkilukion käyneet kokevat oppineensa lukiosta, ja millä tavoin ne näkyvät heidän elämissään tänä päivänä. Tarkastelen tutkimuksessani Kaustisen musiikkilukiota, sillä Kaustinen tunnetaan erityislaatuisena kansanmusiikkiin painottuneena musiikkipaikkakuntana. Aikaisemmissa tutkimuksissa on selvitetty musiikkilukion merkitystä musiikin ammattiin suuntautuneiden henkilöiden kohdalla. Tämän tutkielman tarkoitus on tarkastella, minkälaisia mahdollisuuksia ja haasteita sisältävät musiikin käyttö ruotsinopetuksessa, ruotsin- ja musiikinopetuksen integrointi sekä ruotsin- ja musiikinopettajien yhteistyö. To support holistic development, adolescent student-athletes are encouraged to integrate sport with education/academics (i.e., dual careers). Career adaptability, as a psychological resource, may help youth athletes cope with transitions and successfully manage their careers. From a “Student” to a Lifelong “Consumer” of Education? Constructions of Educability in Adult Students’ Narrative Life Histories

The focus of this study was to examine the constructions of the educable subject of the lifelong learning (LLL) narrative in the narrative life histories of adult students at general upper secondary school for adults (GUSSA). In this study lifelong learning has been defined as a cultural narrative on education, “a system of political thinking” that is not internally consistent, but has contradictory themes embedded within it (Billig et al., 1988).
