Porous silicon based photoluminescence immunosensor for rapid and highly-sensitive detection of Ochratoxin A.

2017

A rapid and low cost photoluminescence (PL) immunosensor for the determination of low concentrations of Ochratoxin A (OTA) has been developed. This immunosensor was based on porous silicon (PSi) and modified by antibodies against OTA (anti-OTA). PSi layer was fabricated by metal-assisted chemical etching (MACE) procedure. Main structural parameters (pore size, layer thickness, morphology and nanograins size) and composition of PSi were investigated by means of X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. PL-spectroscopy of PSi was performed at room temperature and showed a wide emission band centered at 680 ± 20nm. Protein A was covalently immobilized …

Cathodoluminescence decay kinetics in Ge+, Si+, O+ implanted SiO2 layers

2003

Abstract Cathodoluminescence spectral shapes and respective band decay times show no similarity between luminescence centers in different crystal and amorphous modifications of SiO2 and GeO2. On the other hand, the additionally produced red luminescence centers (650 nm) by oxygen implantation into SiO2 layers are of the same nature as in stoichiometric SiO2 and are attributed to the non-bridging oxygen hole center (NBOHC). On the other hand, the elevated blue luminescence (460 nm) in Si implanted SiO2 belongs to the silicon related oxygen deficient center (SiODC) as in stoichiometric layers also. Ge implantation into SiO2 and thermal post-annealing leads to a huge violet luminescence (400 n…

Cathodoluminescence of Ge+, Si+, and O+ implanted SiO2 layers and the role of mobile oxygen in defect transformations

2002

Abstract Thermally grown SiO 2 layers of thickness d =500 nm have been implanted by Ge + , Si + , and O + ions of energy 350, 150, and 100 keV, respectively, and a uniform implantation dose of D i =5×10 16 ions/cm 2 . Thus the implantation profiles are expected with a concentration maximum of nearly 4 at.% at the half-depth d m ≅250 nm of the SiO 2 layers. After thermal annealing to 900 °C for 1 h in dry nitrogen or vacuum the typical violet luminescence band ( λ =400 nm) of the Ge + implanted centers is increased more than 200-fold and the Ge luminescent center depth profile is shifted from about 250 to 170 nm towards the surface as determined by cathodoluminescence (CL) depth profiling. I…

Optical switching of quantum states inside self-assembled quantum dots

2008

Abstract Photoluminescence and excitation of photoluminescence spectroscopy have been performed for two kinds of single InAs self-assembled quantum dots grown on GaAs. The presence of unintentional impurities (donors and acceptors) offers the possibility to switch from negative to positively charged excitons by selectively exciting impurity related optical transitions.

Synthesis and optical characterization of Er-doped bismuth titanate nanoparticles grown by sol-gel hydrothermal method

2017

Abstract The Er 3+ -doped bismuth titanate (Bi 4 Ti 3 O 12 , BIT) nanoparticles were synthesized by a combined sol–gel and hydrothermal method under a partial oxygen pressure of 30 bar. The composition and morphology were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman scattering. They showed pure and homogeneous spherical BIT nanoparticles with a size below the 30 nm. The incorporation of Er ions showed a strong decrease in the lattice parameters, as well as averaged particle size. The photoluminescence up-conversion (excitation wavelength =1480 nm) showed an enhancement of the infrared emission (980 nm) as Er concentration increased, achieving a maxi…

Molecular aggregates of quinuclidine and chlorophyll a

1991

A slightly polar molecule quinuclidine seems to form weakly bound aggregates in concentrated water solutions. Molecular dynamics simulation of a 6 mol water solution indicates clustering of quinuclidine molecules into an almost spherical structure with polar ends of the molecules pointing towards the solvent. Experimental evidence of aggregation was obtained by observing a small but obvious red shift of the o'' a absorption and a dramatic shortening of the fluorescence lifetime of the c n transition of concentrated solutions. The observed self-quenching is interpreted in terms of Frster model for energy transfer in the cluster. It is estimated that excitation may migrate on the cluster surf…

Potential application of some wide band gap materials for UV dosimetry

2005

Properties of some wide band gap materials–natural and CVD diamonds – have been studied for their potential application in UV dosimetry, using methods of optically stimulated luminescence and thermoluminescence. The observed properties are compared with those of the previously studied AlN ceramics. From the OSL excitation spectra, it follows that spectral sensitivity of the studied materials falls mainly into the UVC range, OSL and TL emission spectra are located within the visible light region, thus suitable for usual photodetectors. OSL stimulation spectra of the studied materials have a continuous character and are located in a broad visible/near infrared spectral region implying that th…

X-ray irradiation effects on fluorine-doped germanosilicate optical fibers

2014

International audience; We report an experimental investigation on the effects of fluorine codoping on the radiation response of Ge-doped Optical Fibers (OFs) obtained by three different drawing conditions. The OFs were irradiated with 10 keV X-rays up to 300 Mrad and studied by online Radiation-Induced-Attenuation (RIA) measurements. Confocal Micro- Luminescence (CML) and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) were also employed to investigate the permanent radiation-induced-defects. The variation of the Germanium-Lone-Pair-Center (GLPC) and Non-Bridging- Oxygen-Hole-Centers (NBOHC) concentration with the radiation dose is investigated by CML, whereas the ones of the induced Ge(1), Ge(2) an…

Influence of neutron and gamma-ray irradiations on rad-hard optical fiber

2015

We investigated point defects induced in rad-hard Fluorine-doped optical fibers using both a mixed source of neutrons (fluences from 1015 to 1017 n/cm2) and γ-rays (doses from 0.02 to 2 MGy) and by a γ-ray source (dose up to 10 MGy). By combining several complementary spectroscopic techniques such as radiation-induced attenuation, confocal micro-luminescence, time-resolved photo-luminescence and electron paramagnetic resonance, we evidenced intrinsic and hydrogen-related defects. The comparison between the two irradiation sources highlights close similarities among the spectroscopic properties of the induced defects and the linear correlation of their concentration up to 1016 n/cm2. These r…
