Teacher attitudes have been identified as an important resource when striving towards inclusive education as defined in the Salamanca Statement (1994). This study surveyed some key factors associated with teacher attitudes towards inclusion. The participants were 1,456 classroom teachers in Finnish primary schools who were asked about their readiness to include in their classrooms a student with a specified special educational need (SEN). The aim of this study was to examine and interpret teachers’ experiences of pupils with emotional and behavioural disordres in comprehensive schools in Finland. The term ‘pupils with emotional and behavioural disorders’ refers here to children who either cannot or do not want to act according to the general expectations in a school climate. This thesis is in the form of a monograph consisting of three distinct, but related studies. The three studies examined Grade 1 teachers’ knowledge and perceptions of reading instruction in classrooms in Namibia; and the use of GraphoGame in Afrikaans as a digital learning tool and as an intervention tool for struggling readers. Three data sets were collected: teachers (N = 132), children (N = 202) and struggling readers (N = 19). The results offered three main findings. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa selvitetään luokanopettajien työhyvinvointia tukevia ja haastavia tekijöitä sekä työyhteisön merkitystä työhyvinvoinnille. Lisäksi tarkastellaan opettajien kokemuksia työhyvinvoinnin tukemisesta. Tutkielman avulla tuodaan esille heidän kokemuksia työhyvinvoinnistaan. Tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää opettajien työhyvinvoinnin kehittämistyössä. Tutkielma on laadullinen tutkimus, jonka aineisto on kerätty teemahaastatteluiden avulla keväällä ja syksyllä 2017.
