Although Alva Noë’s Strange Tools: Art and Human Nature (2015) makes no direct reference to Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy (1995–2000), these otherwise dissimilar works share an astonishingly similar and current view of the mind: both Noë and Pullman construe cognition as embodied action that extends and reflects on its own possibilities through various instruments and technologies. Tämän työn tarkoitus on tutkia seitsemäsluokkalaisten oppilaiden oppimista peruskoulun musiikin tunnilla. Oppimista seurattiin yhden opetuskokonaisuuden aikana. Tämä kokonaisuus käsitteli klassista musiikkia ja sen tärkeimpiä aikakausia sekä säveltäjiä. Työssä tehdään opetuskokeilu seitsemäsluokkalaisille oppilaille, joiden musiikin opiskeluun kuuluu pakollisena osana klassisen musiikin teosten opiskelu. Tutkimukseen osallistui kaksi luokkaa, joista toinen oli Itä-Suomesta ja toinen Länsi-Suomesta. Oppilaita oli ryhmissä tutkimushetkellä yhteensä 33, 16 Itä-Suomesta ja 17 Länsi-Suomesta. The oceanic feeling has been a relatively persistent topic of discussion in both creativity research and aesthetics. Characterized by a sensation of self-boundary dissolution, the feeling has often been reported to involve experiences of fusion with various objects, including works of art. In this article, I will discuss the oceanic feeling in the specific context of painterly creativity. I will begin by arguing that the oceanic feeling cannot be classified as an emotion, mood, or bodily feeling in the established senses of these terms. This paper summarizes and elaborates the findings of a research project on leadership as an enabler of professional agency and creativity in information technology organizations.
