In this study, 3D distribution of features in the proximal femur of 91 female athletes (5 exercise loading groups representing habitual loading) is contrasted with 20 controls. Rapid environmental fluctuations are ubiquitous in the wild, yet majority of experimental studies mostly consider effects of slow fluctuations on organism. To test the evolutionary consequences of fast fluctuations, we conducted nine independent experimental evolution experiments with bacteria. Experimental conditions were same for all species, and we allowed them to evolve either in fluctuating temperature alternating rapidly between 20°C and 40°C or at constant 30°C temperature. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on ollut tuottaa tietoa alueellisen erityislastentarhanopettajan (alue-elto) työn muotoutumisesta tavallisen päivähoidon arkiympäristössä sekä päiväkotien kasvatushenkilöstön arvioista koskien alue-elton työtä ja yhteistyötä hänen kanssaan. Tutkimus on tehty toimintatutkimuksena. Tutkimuksessa kuvataan alue-elton ajankäyttöä ja työtehtäviä sisällöllisesti. Tutkimuksen aineistona on alue-eltojen työajanseuranta runsaan vuoden ajalta. Työajanseurannassa alue-eltot kuvailivat työtehtäviään 15 minuutin tarkkuudella yhden viikon ajan kuukaudessa lokakuusta 2000 joulukuuhun 2001. Objectives: We investigated the associations of accelerometry-derived osteogenic indices (OIs), moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA), and vigorous intensity physical activity (VPA) with peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pCQT) parameters in 99 adolescents aged 10–13 years. Methods: Bone parameters were assessed at the distal (4%) and shaft (66%) of the tibia using pQCT. Accelerometers were worn on the right hip for 7 consecutive days. The conflict in Northern Uganda is recognized as having come to an end with the signing of a cessation of hostilities agreement between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Government of Uganda in August 2006, which resulted in improved security.
