Maahanmuuttajien kotoutumiskokemukset Etelä-Pohjanmaan maaseutumaisille alueille

Artikkeli tarkastelee maaseutumaisella alueella asuvien maahanmuuttajien kotoutumista useiden eri tekijöiden kautta. Tutkimuksessa on hyödynnetty sekä kvantitatiivista postikyselyä että kvalitatiivista teemahaastattelua. Kotoutumisesta piirtyvä kuva näyttää useimpien maahanmuuttajien kohdalla myönteiseltä. Erityisesti virolaisten tilanne on selvästi muita valoisampi: heidän suomen kielen taitonsa on muita ryhmiä parempi, ja he ovat työllistyneet ja onnistuneet vakauttamaan työmarkkina-asemaansa muita ryhmiä paremmin. Optimal growth and development in childhood and adolescence is crucial for lifelong health and well-being 1-6. Here we used data from 2,325 population-based studies, with measurements of height and weight from 71 million participants, to report the height and body-mass index (BMI) of children and adolescents aged 5-19 years on the basis of rural and urban place of residence in 200 countries and territories from 1990 to 2020. Haasteet maaseudun vesihankkeiden kestävyydessä on tiedostettu maailmanlaajuisesti jo useiden vuosikymmenten ajan. Paikallisten käyttäjien osallistuminen hankkeiden toteutukseen ja hallinnointiin on nähty yhtenä ratkaisuna ongelmaan. Today’s political ambitions are based on the neoliberal aspiration to diminish the state’s role and responsibilities, and to transfer those responsibilities to local communities and individuals in ways that idealise those communities, promising to ‘give power to the people’. Instead of highlighting individualism, neoliberalism now celebrates communities and participation. This article deals with the effects of this ideology with regard to Finnish rural policy objectives. This paper analyzes long-term spatial developments in Finland by focusing on two predictions of the new economic geography (NEG) models, the increasing persistence of locational patterns and the emerging agglomeration shadow, i.e. the rising dominance of growth centers. Pre- and post-war periods are distinguished to roughly express the shift from an agriculture-based economy to a post-industrial country. Tutkimuksen aiheena on maaseutuyhteisön sosiaalinen kenttä ja kontaktinmuodostus, jota tutkin kummi-, avioliitto- ja palkolliskontaktien kautta. Tutkimuskohteena on keskisuomalainen Vuorimäen tila vuosina 1807–1883. Tutkimuksessa käytän yhteisöelämänkerrallista tutkimusotetta, jonka avulla saadaan koottua pienistä yksittäisiä ihmisiä käsittelevistä tiedon rippeistä laaja kuva koko yhteisöstä ja sen rakenteista ja mentaliteeteista. Tärkeä tutkimusmetodi on ollut myös sosiaalisten kenttien luominen, jossa olen soveltanut Juhani U.E. Lehtosen avioliittokenttä mallia ja kartallistamista. Jäsennämme artikkelissa maaseudun paikallisyhteisöjen hyvinvoinnin muotoutumiseen liittyviä tekijöitä. Lähtökohtanamme toimii paikallisten hyvinvointijärjestelmien teoria, jonka pohjalta kehitämme maaseudun paikallisyhteisöjen hyvinvoinnin analyysiin soveltuvaa teoreettista tulkintamallia. Tässä käytämme apuna sosiaalitieteestä käsin rakentuvaa kompleksisuusajattelua. Rural Artisans' Apprenticeship Practices in Early Modern Finland (1700-1850)

Finland was a predominantly rural country before 1850. Its village communities, however, also required the services of craftsmen, notably blacksmiths, tailors and shoemakers. To regulate these artisans, the crown created a formal and regulated institution of ‘parish artisans’ in the 1680s that continued until the latter part of the nineteenth century. By 1700 a system had emerged of clearly organised craft training in the limited range of trades acceptable for ‘parish artisans’.
