Artikkelissa tarkastellaan Inrikes Tidningarissa julkaistuja raportteja Pehr Adrian Gaddin (1727–1797) matkoista Suomessa vuosina 1763–1765. Tekstit sekä rikastavat käsitystä Gaddin toiminnasta istutuspäällikkönä että antavat esimerkin mahdollisesta julkisuuden käytöstä vapaudenajan lopun Ruotsissa.

Agricultural intensification has led to structurally simplified landscapes with reduced and fragmented resources for farmland insects. However, studies on the effects of landscape composition on farmland insects have mainly been performed in areas dominated by open arable land and semi-natural grasslands, while studies from forest-dominated landscapes are scarce. Suomalainen maaseutu koki 1800-luvun loppupuoliskolla muutoksen. Omavaraisesta maataloudesta siirryttiin uusien ja tehokkaampien työmenetelmien avulla teolliseen maanviljelyyn 1870-luvulta lähtien. Vuosisadan loppua kohden talonpojat omaksuivat uusia työvälineitä ja -tapoja. Myös kulutustottumukset muuttuivat. 1860-luvun nälkävuosien jälkeen maaseudulla karjatalous ja heinän peltoviljely muuttivat maanviljelystä. The availability of less expensive techniques of storing excess generated energy is critical to the success of the renewable energy roadmaps implementation. In this study, hydrothermal and chemical leaching methods have been used to synthesize MnO2 nanoparticles using KMnO4 and MnSO4 as precursors at 140 °C and from natural local manganese ore. This article focuses on the contribution of social workers to the Portuguese democratic transition in the 1970s. Their involvement in urban social mobilizations and in the cooperative movement will offer a perspective on the participation of social workers alongside the Revolutionary process and how they, through engaging with social mobilization, grass-roots initiatives and socio-political activism deployed practices consistent with radical social work frames. This commentary discusses the socio-cultural context of farming and proposes ways to break related lock-ins in the context of sustainability transition research. To be able to change farming practices and design policies to promote the changes, it is essential to understand what actually needs to change. Do we need to change the ways farmers think, the ways that food markets operate, the requirements of plant varieties or the requirements related to protecting water quality? The aim of this chapter is to explore agricultural practices and their sustainability, in order to analyse the essence and dynamics of culture in relation to sustainable development. We ask, what should sustain in culture and what does culturally sustainable development entail? We identified three core qualities of sustainability in farming: fertility, diversity and continuity. They are bound together and shaped by rationalization related to the feasible functioning of the farming system and appreciation judging the desirability and quality of the practices. Mustialan maanviljelysopiston rakennettu ympäristö vuosina 1838-1920

Tutkielmani käsittelee Suomen ensimmäisen käytännöllis-tietopuolisen maanviljelysoppilaitoksen rakennettua ympäristöä. Mustialan maanviljelysopisto perustettiin 1830-luvulla Suomen Talousseuran toimesta Tammelaan Kanta-Hämeeseen. Ensimmäiset oppilaat aloittivat opistossa opiskelun vuonna 1840. Vielä nykyäänkin Mustialassa voi opiskella maaseutuelinkeinojen koulutusohjelmassa. Nykyisin yli 50 rakennusta käsittävästä kokonaisuudesta rajaan tutkielmani käsittämään tiiviin rakennusryhmän, joka käsittää opisto- ja maatilapihan sekä navettapihan rakennukset.
