The present paper concerns a special application of some recently proposed structural devices, called LRPD, able to protect the welded sections of frame steel structures from undesired brittle collapse ensuring the good expected ductile behaviour. Standard I-shaped cross-sections are treated, and the proposed devices are suitably considered as moment resisting connections between beams and columns. The essay examines the role of the agreement as a tool for managing property relationships in crossborder marriages and registered partnerships, in light of EU Regulations 1103 and 1104 of 2016, on the property regimes of international married or registered couples. The main prerogative of such acts is the recognition of the parties? freedom to choose the court and the applicable law. Differential effects of workaholism and work engagement on the interference between life and work domains

This study analyzed the differences between workaholism and work engagement in relation to their influence on work–life interference. Workaholism is an addiction to work, characterized by obsessive attitude towards job, whereas work engagement concerns a positive pattern of thoughts and feelings about one’s job; these two constructs thus represent pathological and healthy forms of heavy work investment, respectively. As a consequence, it was expected that workaholism and work engagement would have different effects on perceived interference between work and life domains. Background: The present study aims to identify different work-family boundary management profiles among Finnish employees, and examine how these relate to conflict between work and family or their mutual enrichment. Method: Participants from two samples, one consisting of university staff (n1 = 1,139) and another of nurses (n2 = 271), were asked to respond to an online survey concerning work-family boundary management, work-to-family enrichment, and work-to-family conflict scales. Tässä laadullisessa tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin organisaatioiden yhdistymisen mukanaan tuomia mainemuutoksia uusille organisaatioille. Tutkimuskohteena oli kaksi julkisen sektorin tapausorganisaatiota, Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitos (KTL + Stakes) ja Valvira (TEO + STTV). Tutkimuksessa pyrittiin selvittämään, mistä tekijöistä koostuu organisaatiomuutoksen kautta yhdistyneen uuden organisaation maine ja miten vanha maine heijastuu uuden organisaation maineeseen. The purpose of this research is to estimate what kind of reputation the United Nations has amongst the Members of Parliament of Finland who are also members of the Foreign Affairs Committee. The theoretical framework concentrates on the terms reputation, image, intergovernmental organization and issues management. The theory part also concerns the UN as an intergovernmental organization and Finland’s history as a member of the UN. Yritysetiikka ja yhteiskuntavastuu ovat yhä enenevässä määrin ajankohtaisia teemoja nykyajan viestinnän tutkimuksessa, vaikka kolme vuosikymmentä sitten epäiltiin niiden olevan laskevia tutkimustrendejä.
