Madness is an inherent quality of female protagonists in the prose of Marguerite Duras. It manifests itself through melancholy, sadness, loneliness, misunderstanding or absence arising from abandonment. The behaviour of female characters, marked by distress or “the disease of death”, is irrational, nonsensical and difficult to understand. Their attitude defies logic and attempts to capture this specificity of writing focused on the emotive sphere, on what is inexpressible. "Epidemia jako siła napędowa historii (?)" : choroba w ujęciu Petra Zelenki

Przedmiotem analizy w artykule jest tekst sztuki teatralnej Elegance molekuly (2018) Petra Zelenki. Czeski dramatopisarz rekonstruuje w niej historię chemika Antonína Holego, którego badania przyczyniły się do wynalezienia m. in. leków antyretrowirusowych hamujących rozwój syndromu AIDS. Dzięki wykorzystaniu przez Zelenkę wszystkich trzech warstw mitu AIDS, jakie wyróżniła polska antropolożka Monika Sznajderman, prawdziwa historia firmy Gilead Sciences jest przyczynkiem do zaprezentowania kulturowego obrazu choroby oraz wywołanej przezeń epidemii w latach 80. i 90. XX wieku. Przy interpretacji dramatu sięgnięto również w charakterze komentarza do rozważań Susan Sontag (Choroba jako metafora…
