This article takes us to Nazaret, an outlying district on Valencia’s waterfront which we consider from three complementary perspectives: the synchronic vision of its current socio-spatial structure, the diachronic and processual contextualization of the changes it has undergone in the last century, and the perceptions and images which characterize the neighbourhood, together with the features, activity and incidence of its associative fabric. Potential approach in marginalizing Gibbs models

Abstract Given an undirected graph G or hypergraph potential H model for a given set of variables V , we introduce two marginalization operators for obtaining the undirected graph G A or hypergraph H A associated with a given subset A ⊂ V such that the marginal distribution of A factorizes according to G A or H A , respectively. Finally, we illustrate the method by its application to some practical examples. With them we show that potential approach allow defining a finer factorization or performing a more precise conditional independence analysis than undirected graph models. Finally, we explain connections with related works.

In the current (post-) pandemic context and through the lens of a southern European perspective the purpose of this article is to critically reflect about the role of culture as possible vehicle of urban and community regeneration. In particular we will focus on the activities of the no profit organization «Laboratorio Zen Insieme» in ZEN2 one of the last large popular and peripheral neighborhoods built in Palermo at the end of 80s in order to explore and understand how cultural practices work as agent of urban and social transformation capable of addressing emerging issues especially in the pandemic scenario we are experiencing. Thecasestudy has been conducted through analysis of documents participative observations (Honer and Hitzler 2015) and qualitative in-depth interviews with key actors involved in the conception organization and management of the activities carried out by Laboratorio Zen Insieme with representatives of local institutions and non-formal conversations with participants of the workshops heldin the neighborhood. The experience we narrate finds that cultural practices have re-conceptualized their design and functions as strategies of urban and community regeneration and at the same time have contributed to answer to emergent issues in developing proximity and local based strategies facing up to problems inherent civil rights educationalpoverty socio-spatial justice and have changed the image and identity of urban places they inhabit.In this sense the research provides a framework for development of strategies and legitimization for cultural practices and a point of discussionabouttheirrolein urban development.Although all cities in the world have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic its impacts on the territories yet to be understood are unevenly distributed revealing extremely varied imbalances depending on the places. Modeling Marginalization: Emergence, Social Physics, and Social Ethics of Bullying

In this paper, we outline the construction and initial simulation experiment results of the Marginalization model (MARG). We experiment under different group parameters because the theoretical paradigm we follow views bullying as a result of social processes. Our primary research question explores the possibility of bullying emergence as agents select interaction partners in a university setting. Based on the simulated process, our results take indications of the stress of marginalization in a student group as a proxy for emer-gent marginalization. The article presents Voluntary Labour Corps (OHP) as an educational institution of the labour market in Poland. It attends difficult, young people who are socially excluded. The OHP is seen as the institution of the second chance, which embraces the needs of young people in a competent and complex way. It concentrates on providing the youth with proper education and preventing them from further social exclusion. The institution undertakes actions to include the youth in normal, adult life.
