Zagraniczne migracje kobiet a problemy rodziny i małżeństwa

2019

2019

Małżeństwo sakramentalne dzięki włączeniu w misterium paschalne Chrystusa uczestniczy w dziele zbawczym Kościoła powszechnego, realizując funkcję prorocką, kapłańską i królewską.

2020

Amoris laetitia, the post-synodal Exhortation of Pope Francis, provoked varied reactions among theologians. Especially controversial is the question of the admission of divorced people living in civil partnership to the sacraments of penance and reconciliation and the Eucharist. The present text presents the main arguments of Polish moral theologians, which came to the fore during the discussion on the practice of sacrament for divorced and remarried people. The Polish theologians’ arguments cited are not limited to simply quoting the teachings of Pope John Paul II, but refer to important arguments from the theology of marriage, theology of sacraments and moral theology. The author indicate…

Japanese anime and women's gender-role changing

2015

Feminism is a fast growing phenomenon in recent years. This paper started with the historical conflict of marriage and feminism, then researched the connection between anime and gender-role. Since Japanese anime was imported to China in 1980s, it has influenced the generation born in 1980s and 1990s in many aspects of their growth. These well-educated people perceived the Japanese culture and values through anime. This study connected gender stereotypes and marriage, and how Chinese well-educated anime fans interpret the gender-role portrayals from anime. Eight well-educated young people born in 1980s and 1990s participated in this study through semi-structured online interviews. This study…

Narratives by women managers about spousal support for their careers

2014

In this article we present a qualitative study of spousal support for the careers of women managers. The research material consists of the narratives of 25 women managers in Finland. The study has two main implications. Firstly, unlike previous studies, we use a narrative approach to demonstrate that a woman manager's career and spousal support are experienced as ambiguous and evolving over the career. The support was constructed by the women managers as flourishing, irrelevant, deficient or inconsistent. Secondly, to increase our knowledge about gender relations, we combine discussion of the topic with gender order analysis and suggest that gender order is critical for an understanding of …

Partnership formation and dissolution over the life course: applying sequence analysis and event history analysis in the study of recurrent events

2015

We present two types of approach to the analysis of recurrent events for discretely measured data, and show how these methods can complement each other when analysing co-residential partnership histories. Sequence analysis is a descriptive tool that gives an overall picture of the data and helps to find typical and atypical patterns in histories. Event history analysis is used to make conclusions about the effects of covariates on the timing and duration of the partnerships. As a substantive question, we studied how family background and childhood socio-emotional characteristics were related to later partnership formation and stability in a Finnish cohort born in 1959. We found that high se…

LIMINARY IMAGES. THE RITES OF PASSAGE IN THE PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUMS OF THE SICILIAN FAMILIES OF THE XX SEC.

2017

“Life is not what you have lived, but what you remember and how you remember it to tell“. Taking cue from the words of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the essay analyzes a gallery of photographic images portraying «family photos», made in Sicily between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, which are placed in an intermediate space between oral and written traditions becoming «biographical object». The analysis of the photographic corpus searches for the connections between the different events that the image has gone through (production, transmission, fruition). It is in his «life story», in his passage from one generation to the other, from one type of representat…
