Antiferromagnetic Interactions in Copper(II) µ-Oxalato Dinuclear Complexes: The Role of the Counterion

We report the preparation, crystal structure determination, magnetic properties and DFT calculations of five oxalato-bridged dicopper(II) complexes of formula [Cu-2(bpy)(2-)(H2O)(2)(C2O4)](CF3SO3)(2) (1), [Cu-2(bpy)(2)(C2O4)](PF6)(2) (2), [Cu-2(bpy)(2)(C2O4)](ClO4)(2) (3), [Cu-2(bpy)(2)Cl-2(C2O4)]center dot H2O (4) and [Cu-2(bpy)(2)(NO2)(2)(C2O4)] (5) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine and C2O42-= oxalate). Compounds 1, 2, 4 and 5 crystallize in the monoclinic system and 3 crystallizes in the triclinic system. The oxalate ligands in 1-5 adopt the bis-bidentate coordination mode and the two bpy molecules act as terminal ligands. The coordination of the counterions and the surroundings of the copper(II) …

Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) is the promising versatile platform proposed for guiding electromagnetic waves at nanoscale dimensions. Investigation of thick sheet AHSS springback in combined bending under tension

In this paper, we investigate the springback behavior of several advanced high-strength sheet steels (TRIP, Dual-Phase, ferrite-bainite) with thicknesses up to 4 mm. Samples were tested by means of the bending-under-tension (BUT) test. The BUT has been extensively applied, in the literature, to relatively thin (1 mm and thinner) sheet metals for automotive applications; the applicability of several guidelines from the literature was investigated in this work in the context of thick advanced high strength steel (AHSS) sheets and using a sample width of 12 mm. This thesis work was carried out using tellurite glasses from the TeO2-ZnO-La2O3 (TZL) ternary diagram for optical fibers manufacturing. The choice to use this system is motivated by the ambition to improve the transmission of optical signals within oxide glasses for which absorption bands related to OH groups are present in the transparency window.
