It is now broadly recognised that in order to be sustainable, protected areas (PAs) must bring concrete benefits to local populations who suffer from the restrictions imposed for conservation. Natural disasters, such as major floods, bring additional challenges to conservation efforts and related support activities, notably nature-based tourism. Disasters often intensify conflicts between conservation objectives and local community needs, but they may also bring some mutual benefits. Matkailualalla kaiken kokoisilta yrityksiltä edellytetään kestävän kehityksen mukaista toimintaa. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitetään miten mikrokokoiset maatilamatkailuyritykset toteuttavat kestävyyttä toiminnassaan. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan maaseutumatkailuyrityksien fyysisessä ja sosiaalisessa toimintaympäristössä sekä operatiivisissa toiminnoissa toteuttamia vastuullisia toimenpiteitä sekä avataan toimintatapoihin vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Air transport plays a vital role in tourism because it makes long-haul destinations accessible and more frequent vacations possible. Despite its benefits, air travel extensively contributes to climate change. Behavioural change is seen as a key driver in mitigating the environmental impacts of air transport. One way to encourage behavioural change is the use of eco-labels. This paper presents the idea of introducing an air transport eco-label. Chasing writers’ ghosts through a modern city : Augmenting urban space with literary connections during the Tove Jansson walk in Helsinki

The article employs the theme of a literary walk (Watson 2009), a practice of encountering places with literary associations on foot. Urban areas present especially suitable settings for such themed walks, as cities can have multiple literary connections, and literary places are located within a short distance from one another. In this paper, I focus on the sites associated with Tove Jansson (1914– 2001), a Finnish-Swedish artist and writer, internationally known for her books about the Moomins.
