New reactive isoeugenol based phosphate flame retardant : toward green epoxy resins
2019
A biobased reactive phosphate flame retardant derived from isoeugenol was synthesized and fully characterized (1H, 13C, 31P NMR, FTIR, MS) with the aim of improving flame retardancy behavior of bio...
Adsorption of Heavy Metals from Aqueous Solutions onto Activated Carbon in Single Cu and Ni Systems and in Binary Cu-Ni, Cu-Cd and Cu-Zn Systems
1997
Single copper and nickel adsorption from aqueous solutions onto a granular activated carbon is reported. Metal removals increase on raising pH and temperature, and decrease on raising the initial metal concentration at constant carbon dose. The adsorption processes are modelled using the surface complex formation (SCF) Triple Layer Model (TLM) with an overall surface bidentate species. A dependence of the SCF constant on pH, initial molar metal/carbon ratio and temperature is observed, and a correlation for log Kads is determined. The SCF model successfully predicts copper and nickel removals in single metal solutions. Adsorption in the binary metal systems copper–nickel, copper–cadmium and…
Anodic Dissolution of Nickel across Two Consecutive Electron Transfers
2007
The analysis of the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results are consistent with a nickel electrodissolution process limited by the passage of Ni(I) to Ni(II), when chloride ions are present in the acid sulfate medium, or by the passage of Ni(II) to Ni 2+ in solution, in absence of chloride. This interpretation allows an explanation of the potential evolution of Fdm/dQ values in both experimental conditions by assuming the formation of a new phase on the electrode surface with a gel-like structure placed between the metal and the solution. Ni(I) surface concentration is calculated from the instantaneous mass/charge Fdm/dQ values.

Eine Nierenfunktionsanalyse durch die Computertomographie
1992
The CT clearance in a number of urological patients (39 patients, 25 with normal renal function) was studied by means of an "area under curve" (AUC) method, using a region of interest. 31 patients were given meglumine ioxithalamate and 8 patients Iopamidol as a contrast medium. Both for total and partial function there was highly significant correlation with isotope clearance with good reproducibility. The difference in the pharmacokinetics of the contrast media affected the absolute clearance values.
Dependence between aging treatments and residual stresses on composite laminate
2006
International audience; The objective of this paper is to study the influence of residual stresses due to fabrication conditions on the thermomechanical behavior of carbon/epoxy laminate structures (cross ply). These studied laminates have undergone various cycles of thermal aging. The addition of a post-cure cycle after the end of the initial cycle makes it possible to reduce the residual stresses level. The incremental hole-drilling method is used to measure the residual strain in the laminates. These measured strains and the numerical calibration coefficients obtained by the finite element method allow to calculating the residual stress distribution in composite depth. The obtained resul…
Note: A non-invasive electronic measurement technique to measure the embedded four resistive elements in a Wheatstone bridge sensor
2015
The work shows a measurement technique to obtain the correct value of the four elements in a resistive Wheatstone bridge without the need to separate the physical connections existing between them. Two electronic solutions are presented, based on a source-and-measure unit and using discrete electronic components. The proposed technique brings the possibility to know the mismatching or the tolerance between the bridge resistive elements and then to pass or reject it in terms of its related common-mode rejection. Experimental results were taken in various Wheatstone resistive bridges (discrete and magnetoresistive integrated bridges) validating the proposed measurement technique specially whe…
Retinol and retinyl esters in pigment epithelium of rats with inherited retinal degeneration
1976
A comparative study of the retinol and retinyl ester concentrations was performed in the retinal pigment epithelium of the normal and affected rats. Our findings indicate that in dystrophic rat retinol content increases, whereas the amount of retinyl esters is always lower than normal. An hypothesis can be made on the deficiency of enzymic activities which regulate retinol retinol and retinyl esters levels in the pigment epithelium.
Influence of some relevant process parameters on the dimensional accuracy in incremental forming: a numerical and experimental investigation
2004
Abstract As known, incremental forming is a flexible and innovative sheet metal forming process which allows complex shape shells forming without the need for any die. For these reasons, incremental forming is nowadays suggested for rapid prototyping and customised products. The present paper is focused on material formability in incremental forming and, in particular, on the evaluation and compensation of elastic springback. The latter significantly modifies the imposed shape. For this purpose, a deeper assessment of the process was developed following three different approaches. First of all, a wide experimental investigation on the influence of some relevant process parameters was develo…
A modified moiré technique for three-dimensional surface topography
2002
In this paper we present an optical technique based on the shadow moire method which allows the measurement and digitization of three-dimensional surfaces. The technique was tested through experimental work and the results were compared with those obtained by a coordinate measuring machine. Moving from the conventional shadow moire method, new features were implemented enabling us to overcome the main shortcomings of the conventional moire method. These include the need to assign the fringe order, the incapability of discerning concavity or convexity, the poor resolution and the complexity in the signal processing. All these problems have been solved by adding an element to generate a carri…
