TIIVISTELMÄ Henriksson Mari-Anne. 2017. Oppilaiden kokemuksia melusta. Kasvatustieteen pro gradu - tutkielma. Jyväskylän yliopisto. Opettajankoulutuslaitos. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, millaisia kokemuksia oppilailla on melua tuottavista asioista koululla sekä miten häiritsevää melua voitaisiin heidän mielestään vähentää. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin Webrobol-kyselyllä (n=169). Aineisto kerättiin vuoden 2017 alussa kahdessa kaupungissa, joista pienemmästä kaupungista tutkimukseen osallistuivat kaikkien koulujen ja isommasta yhden yhtenäiskoulun 3. ja 6. luokat. Trypanosoma evansi infection in mainland Spain.

An outbreak of Trypanosoma evansi infection that occurred in mainland Spain is described. The outbreak occurred on an equine and camel farm to which dromedary camels from an infected area of the Canary Islands had recently been introduced. One of these camels developed clinical signs and T. evansi was discovered in a blood smear examination. The herd was evaluated in order to determine the extent of the disease. The results showed that 76% of the camels, 35% of the donkeys and 2% of the horses were affected. The animals were isolated and treated using Cymelarsan((R)) (0.5mg/kg). Tutkimukseni käsittelee ensimmäisenä Suomessa koulun musiikinopettajien melualtistusta ja kuulovaurioriskiä. Aihe on tärkeä ja ajankohtainen, sillä hiljattain on havahduttu siihen, että musiikki- ja muu vapaa-ajan melu aiheuttaa pysyviä kuulovammoja jo nuorissakin ihmisissä. Lisäksi sivuaviin ja ulkomaisiin tutkimuksiin perustuen oli syytä epäillä, että musiikinopettajien työperäinen melualtistus saattaa olla huolestuttavaa tasoa. Melu voi tarkoittaa paitsi mitattavissa olevaa äänitasoa, myös yksilön subjektiivista kokemusta jostakin äänestä häiritsevänä. Siksi keskeisiä tutkimuskysymyksiäkin oli kaksi. This dissertation considers numerical methods for wave propagation modelling and noise control. The first part of the dissertation discusses an efficient method for solving time-harmonic wave equations in acoustic (the Helmholtz equation) and elastic domains (the Navier equation). The solver is based on preconditioning a Krylov subspace method, such as GMRES, with approximations of damped variants of the corresponding wave equations. Purification and characterization of the ?-β-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase from dromedary liver mitochondria

Abstract d -β-Hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (BDH) (EC 1.1.1.30), a membrane enzyme, has been purified to homogeneity from dromedary ( Camelus dromedarius ) liver mitochondria. Our new purification method consisted of the solubilization of mitochondrial membranes by Triton X 100 and purification of BDH by two steps: DEAE-Sephacel and Phenyl-Sepharose. The molecular mass of the enzyme subunit size was 67 kDa. The purified enzyme is recognized by anti rat liver mitochondrial BDH antibodies. Furthermore, BDH activity was absolutely dependent upon phospholipids. En el presente trabajo nos proponemos estudiar la relación entre dos episodios presentes en la primera novela castellana, el Libro del Cavallero Zifar, y la tradición del maravilloso de influencia bretona. Partiremos para ello de un análisis comparativo de ambos episo-dios y el esquema del relato maravilloso propuesto por L. Harf-Lancner. Una vez establecidos los paralelismos oportunos, trataremos de ampliar el marco de comparación y comprender la presencia de estos elementos bretones en la literatura castellana desde una perspectiva más general.
Book and Radio Play Silences : Medial Pauses and Reticence in ‘Murke's Collected Silences’ by Heinrich Böll

This article analyses silence at the interface between print and audio media by reading and listening to Heinrich Böll's short story ‘Murke's Collected Silences’ (‘Doktor Murkes gesammeltes Schweigen’) in its book (1958) and three German-language radio play versions (1965; 1986; 1989). Reference is also made to Benjamin Gwilliam's sound art piece (2007) based on the 1986 adaptation. The Böll story thematises silence and media in various ways, and has definite countertextual aspects, in the sense of technology, textuality, and materiality of language. According to several authors, Trypanosoma evansi is a monomorphic trypanosome found exclusively in slender intermediate forms, although additional studies have revealed that many strains present stumpy forms on rare occasions. In a recent T. evansi outbreak in mainland Spain, several atypical forms were observed in blood smear examinations. Molecular procedures were then necessary to confirm the causal agent. Morphological and biometric measures were taken to characterize the different forms of T. evansi. Noiseless Quantum Measurement and Squeezing of Microwave Fields Utilizing Mechanical Vibrations

A process which strongly amplifies both quadrature amplitudes of an oscillatory signal necessarily adds noise. Alternatively, if the information in one quadrature is lost in phase-sensitive amplification, it is possible to completely reconstruct the other quadrature. Here we demonstrate such a nearly perfect phase-sensitive measurement using a cavity optomechanical scheme, characterized by an extremely small noise less than 0.2 quanta. We also observe microwave radiation strongly squeezed by 8 dB below vacuum. A source of bright squeezed microwaves opens up applications in manipulations of quantum systems, and noiseless amplification can be used even at modest cryogenic temperatures.
