Seitsemän elokuvaa kuulumisesta : lyhytelokuva menetelmänä ja tutkimuksen kohteena osallistavassa hankkeessa

Artikkelissa pohditaan lyhytelokuvan roolia taideperustaisessa osallistavassa tutkimushankkeessa Rajojen yli – kuulumisen performansseja ja narratiiveja taiteen keinoin (2017–2021). Tutkijalähtöisessä hankkeessa ihmisiä kutsuttiin pohtimaan kuulumista työpajoissa taiteen tekemisen ja keskustelun kautta. Yksi työpajoista oli videotyöpaja, jossa osallistujien tavoitteena oli tehdä kuulumista käsittelevä lyhytelokuva. Työpajassa valmistui seitsemän elokuvaa, jotka esitettiin julkisessa ensi-illassa ja taidenäyttelyssä, joka koostettiin kaikissa työpajoissa valmistuneista teoksista. This article introduces the AFinLA-e thematic issue focusing on creative inquiry in applied linguistics. This is a relatively new field of research, but it is expanding fast. In this paper we discuss our endeavours and experiences in the field of graffiti and street art research (GSAR) in the form of a dialogue. We reflect on planning and engaging with GSAR, contemplate our (field) work, analyse the methods we have developed, and shed light on the possibilities that arose during research processes. In particular, we focus on what it is like to do GSAR as outsiders, i.e. as those who are not writers or artists themselves, or who do research into a graffiti or street art scene that is foreign to them. peerReviewed

Tässä artikkelissa käsitellemme yliopiston taloustieteen opetuksen näkökulmasta sitä, miten taloustietoa tulisi mielestämme opettaa suomalaisessa koulujärjestelmässä. Vertailemme suomalaisia oppikirjoja ja valtakunnallista opetussuunnitelmaa yhdysvaltalaisiin standardeihin, joita johtavat taloustieteilijät ovat olleet luomassa. Käymme läpi myös erilaisia valintoja opetussisältöihin ja -menetelmiin liittyen. Tarkastelemme myös opintopolkua lukiosta yliopistoon ja sitä, pitäisikö taloustiedon olla oma erillinen oppiaineensa. Background Adapting instruction to individual students' needs is known to be effective, but there is a lack of evidence whether students' reading skills are associated with literacy instruction activities at classroom-level. Both the content of the literacy instruction and teachers' instructional support through instructional management are considered. Students’ agency profiles in relation to student-perceived teaching practices in university courses

This study addresses the gap in our understanding of the role of pedagogy in agency construction among higher education students. In the present study, profiles of students’ agency experiences were identified and analysed with respect to the students’ perceptions of teaching practices in their courses (i.e., student-centred learning activities, forms of instruction, and student-teacher roles). The Agency of University Students (AUS) Scale (Jääskelä et al., 2017) was used to assess the students’ experiences of their personal, relational, and participatory resources of agency.
