Abstract In contemporary working life, art-based initiatives are increasingly used in organizational training and development. For artists, this has created new employment opportunities as creative entrepreneurs who provide specialist services for workplaces. In this article, we study the dynamics of such encounters through the narrated accounts of training professionals. Our data come from a professional mentoring program where the working pairs of artists and consultants shared stories about their customer projects. Tässä artikkelissa esitellään mahdollisuuksia herätellä kielen oppijoiden kieli- ja kulttuuritietoisuutta. Esitellyt mahdollisuudet pohjautuvat 24 empiirisen tutkimuksen kriittiseen arviointiin. Tutkimuksissa käytettiin kuvataiteisiin pohjautuvia visuaalisia menetelmiä. Tällaisten menetelmien avulla on mahdollista pohtia aikaisempia kokemuksia tai kuvitella tulevaisuutta ja näin reflektoida erilaisia monikielisyyden kokemuksia. Näitä voivat olla identiteetin rakentumiseen liittyvät kysymykset, käsitykset eri kielten käytöstä tai tulevaisuuden unelmat. Lärarens val av undervisningspraktiker spelar en avgörande roll för elevers inlärningsresultat. I lärarkognitionen ingår förmågan att på adekvata sätt styra och handleda elevens inlärningsprocess och utvärdera dess utgång med livslångt lärande som huvudsyfte. I artikeln kartläggs och analyseras vilka samband som finns mellan undervisningspraktiker och elevers inlärningsresultat i svenskans långa lärokurs i slutet av den grundläggande utbildningen. Materialsamplet härstammar från den finländska nationella utvärderingen från 2013 och omfattar 1679 elever och 98 lärare, vars respons genomgick en fördjupad analys. Artikkelissa käsitellään suomalaisen instrumenttiopetuksen kehitystä. Fokuksessa on Neuvostoliiton vaikutus erityisesti pianon- ja viulunsoiton opetukseen ajanjaksona, jolloin suomalainen musiikkikoulutus kehittyi voimakkaasti, 1960-luvulta 1980-luvulle. This article discusses the development of teaching of musical instruments in Finland. The focus is fixed on the Soviet impact during the decades when Finnish music education was strongly developing, from the 1960s to 1980s. Tutkielman kirjallisessa osiossa käsitellään steroidirungon eri synteesimenetelmiä. Synteesimenetelmät esitellään niiden synteesistrategioiden mukaan, jotka on edelleen jaoteltu niissä esiintyvien reaktioiden tai yleisten lähtöaineiden pohjalta. Johdannossa käydään lyhyesti läpi steroidien rakenne ja niiden biosynteesi ihmisen elimistössä. Tämän jälkeen aloitetaan synteesien tarkastelu sekosteroidi välivaiheisiin pohjautuvista eli steroidirungon keskiosan rakentamiseen keskittyvistä synteesistrategioista, joista siirrytään steroidirungon renkaat järjestyksessä rakentaviin synteeseihin. Lämpösähköisen materiaalin lämmönjohtavuuden määrittäminen matalissa lämpötiloissa käyttäen 3ω-menetelmää

Työssä tutkittiin mittausmenetelmää lämmönjohtavuuden määrittämiseen mata- lissa lämpötiloissa. Mittaukset perustuivat 3ω menetelmään, joka on alunperin ohut- kalvoille kehitetty menetelmä lämmönjohtavuuden mittaukseen. Menetelmässä läm- mitinlangan läpi kulkeva vaihtovirta synnyttää kolminkertaisella taajudella olevan jännitteen, jonka avulla saadaan tietoa kappaleen termisistä ominaisuuksista. Mit- tauksissa kultainen lämmitinlanka höyrystettiin Kapton kalvon päälle ja tämän päälle hyvin ohut alumiinioksidikerros. Mittaukset suoritettiin pulssituubijäähdyttimeen ra- kennetussa näytteenpitimessä. Laitteiston toiminta varmistettiin huoneenlämpötilas- sa borosilikaatti- ja Kapton näytteillä.…
Soil moisture variations from boreal forests to the tundra

Soil moisture has a profound influence on life on Earth, and this vital water resource varies across space and time. Here, we explored soil moisture variations in boreal forest and tundra environments, where comprehensive soil moisture datasets are scarce. We installed soil moisture sensors up to 14 cm depth at 503 measurement sites within seven study areas across northern Europe. We recorded 6,138,528 measurements to capture soil moisture variations of the snowless season from April to September 2020. Trialling the 4C framework in an Indian grade 3 mathematics classroom

This thesis describes an action research carried out in a Grade 3 maths classroom in a low income, English medium school in Mumbai, India. The maths teacher in the study used the 4C model proposed by Do Coyle (2010) as a framework of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) for teaching maths in English to students whose exposure to English outside the classroom was negligible. Coupled conditional backward sampling particle filter

The conditional particle filter (CPF) is a promising algorithm for general hidden Markov model smoothing. Empirical evidence suggests that the variant of CPF with backward sampling (CBPF) performs well even with long time series. Previous theoretical results have not been able to demonstrate the improvement brought by backward sampling, whereas we provide rates showing that CBPF can remain effective with a fixed number of particles independent of the time horizon. Our result is based on analysis of a new coupling of two CBPFs, the coupled conditional backward sampling particle filter (CCBPF). Opportunities and limitations of in-gas-cell laser spectroscopy of the heaviest elements with RADRIS

International audience; The radiation detection resonance ionization spectroscopy (RADRIS) technique enables laser spectroscopic investigations of the heaviest elements which are produced in atom-at-a-time quantities from fusion-evaporation reactions. To achieve a high efficiency, laser spectroscopy is performed in a buffer-gas environment used to thermalize and stop the high-energy evaporation residues behind the velocity filter SHIP. The required cyclic measurement procedure in combination with the applied filament collection for neutralization as well as confinement of the stopped ions and subsequent pulse-heat desorption constrains the applicability of the technique.
