Measurement of OZI rule violation and spin alignment inϕandωproduction at COMPASS

2012

The COMPASS collaboration at CERN dedicated the 2008 and 2009 run time to hadron spectroscopy measurements with emphasis on the mesonic sector. At 190 GeV/c beam momentum, diffractive and double-Reggeon/Pomeron production mechanisms contribute. Studying vector meson production allows to explore this relatively unknown transition domain. We present results on the ratio of production yields for p p → (1020) p p ϕ and p p → p p ω (782) and its xF dependence where we find an OZI rule violation in the order of a factor of 3. In addition, the spin alignment of ω and ϕ as a function of xF is investigated.

Abnormal isospin violation and a0−f0 mixing in the Ds+→π+π0a0(980)(f0(980)) reactions

2017

We have chosen the reactions ${D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{a}_{0}(980)({f}_{0}(980))$ investigating the isospin violating channel ${D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{f}_{0}(980)$. The reaction was chosen because by varying the ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{a}_{0}(980)({f}_{0}(980))$ invariant mass one goes through the peak of a triangle singularity emerging from ${D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\overline{K}}^{*}K$, followed by ${\overline{K}}^{*}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\overline{K}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ and the further merging of $K\overline{K}$ to produce the ${a}_{0}(980)$ …

Search for B+→K+νν¯ Decays Using an Inclusive Tagging Method at Belle II

2021

A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay B^{+}→K^{+}νν[over ¯] is performed at the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 63 fb^{-1} collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance and a sample of 9 fb^{-1} collected at an energy 60 MeV below the resonance. Because the measurable decay signature involves only a single charged kaon, a novel measurement approach is used that exploits not only the properties of the B^{+}→K^{+}νν[over ¯] decay, but also the inclusive properties of the other B meson in the ϒ(4S)→BB[over ¯] event, to suppress the background from other B meson decays and light-qua…

Study of the X±(5568) state with semileptonic decays of the Bs0 meson

2018

We present a study of the X±(5568) using semileptonic decays of the Bs0 meson using the full run II integrated luminosity of 10.4  fb-1 in proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We report evidence for a narrow structure, X±(5568), in the decay sequence X±(5568)→Bs0π± where Bs0→μ∓Ds±X, Ds±→ϕπ± which is consistent with the previous measurement by the D0 Collaboration in the hadronic decay mode, X±(5568)→Bs0π± where Bs0→J/ψϕ. The mass and width of this state are measured using a combined fit of the hadronic and semileptonic data, yielding m=5566.9-3.1+3.2(stat)-1.2+0.6(syst)  MeV/c2, Γ=18.6-6.1+7.9(s…

Updated determination of D0–D¯0 mixing and CP violation parameters with D0→K+π− decays

2018

We report measurements of charm-mixing parameters based on the decay-time-dependent ratio of D0→K+π- to D0→K-π+ rates. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0  fb-1 recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2011 through 2016. Assuming charge-parity (CP) symmetry, the mixing parameters are determined to be x′2=(3.9±2.7)×10-5, y′=(5.28±0.52)×10-3, and RD=(3.454±0.031)×10-3. Without this assumption, the measurement is performed separately for D0 and D¯0 mesons, yielding a direct CP-violating asymmetry AD=(-0.1±9.1)×10-3, and magnitude of the ratio of mixing parameters 1.00<|q/p|<1.35 at the 68.3% confidence level. All results incl…

Measurement of the DirectCP-violating Charge Asymmetry inDs±→ϕπ±Decays

2014

We present a measurement of the direct CP-violating charge asymmetry in Ds+ → ϕ π(±) decays where the ϕ meson decays to K(+)K(-), using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4  fb-1 of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The normalized difference A(CP) in the yield of D(s)(+) and D(s)(-) mesons in these decays is measured by fitting the difference between their reconstructed invariant mass distributions. This results in an asymmetry of A(CP) = [-0.38 ± 0.27]%, which is the most precise measurement of this quantity to date. The result is consistent with the standard model prediction of zero CP asymmetry in thi…

Measurement of CP asymmetries in two-body B(s)0 -meson decays to charged pions and kaons

2018

The time-dependent CP asymmetries in B0→π+π− and B0s→K+K− decays are measured using a data sample of p p collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0  fb−1, collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The same data sample is used to measure the time-integrated CP asymmetries in B0→K+π− and B0s→π+K− decays. The results are Cπ+π−=−0.34±0.06±0.01, Sπ+π−=−0.63±0.05±0.01, CK+K−=0.20±0.06±0.02, SK+K−=0.18±0.06±0.02, AΔΓK+K−=−0.79±0.07±0.10, AB0CP=−0.084±0.004±0.003, and AB0sCP=0.213±0.015±0.007, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Evidence for CP violation is found in the B0s→K+K− decay for the first time.

Observation of a NewDsMeson Decaying toDKat a Mass of2.86  GeV/c2

2006

We observe a new D_s meson with mass (2856.6 +/- 1.5_{stat.} +/- 5.0_{syst.}) MeV/c^2 and width (48 +/- 7_{stat.} +/- 10_{syst.}) MeV decaying into D^0 K^+ and D^+K^0_S. In the same mass distributions we also observe a broad structure with mass (2688 +/- 4_{stat.} +/- 3_{syst.}) MeV/c^2 and width (112 +/- 7_{stat.} +/- 36_{syst.}) MeV. To obtain this result we use 240 fb^-1 of data recorded by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- storage rings at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center running at center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV.

Measurement of the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn Integrand forH2from 200 to 800 MeV

2006

A measurement of the helicity dependence of the total inclusive photoabsorption cross section on the deuteron was carried out at MAMI (Mainz) in the energy range $200l{E}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}l800\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$. The experiment used a $4\ensuremath{\pi}$ detection system, a circularly polarized tagged photon beam and a frozen-spin target which provided longitudinally polarized deuterons. The contribution to the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule for the deuteron determined from the data is $407\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}20(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}24(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{b}$ for $200l{E}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}l800\text{ }\text{ }\m…
