We investigate the complex dynamics between social service entrepreneurs and social sector managers through the lens of network metaphor, utilizing our data on social service entrepreneurs’ experiences of cooperation with municipalities. We examine what kinds of dependencies exist in the entrepreneur–municipality relationships and what kind of consequences these dependencies have on social service businesses run by entrepreneurs. W niniejszym artykule podjęta została próba przedstawienia konceptualizacji abstrakcyjnych i złożonych zjawisk gospodarczych jako choroby/ witalności w polskim i niemieckim dyskursie prasowym. Kontrastywna eksplikacja zawartości znaczeniowej wybranych modeli metaforycznych, ukazanie ukrytej w nich intencji komunikatywnej jak również obrazu rzeczywistości oraz porównanie wyodrębnionych metafor na płaszczyźnie funkcyjnej i formalnej stanowiła istotny cel niniejszej pracy.

The article falls within the current of linguistic research on religious language, specifically on the language of Polish Catholicism. The paper is divided into two parts. The first discusses the specificity of the problem of gender resulting from the fact that the objects of religious faith are supernatural Beings, but in human beliefs, in culture, they are also attributed gender. W artykule zostały przedstawione metafory, jakimi obecnie posługujemy się, by opisać chorobę nowotworową. Ponieważ stała się ona chorobą publiczną i społeczną, i przestaje być tematem tabu, zatem wykreowała się wokół niej swoista metaforyka bliska terminologii wojskowej i fantastycznej. Artykuł zawiera także refleksję dotyczącą przemian w zakresie wspomnianej metaforyki i uwzględnia społeczne próby demitologizacji i złagodzenia dotychczasowego obrazu raka. Do tej pory uznawano raka za wroga, którego należy pokonać, obecnie natomiast zauważa się kuriozalną zmianę polegającą na podejmowaniu prób złagodzenia wizerunku choroby i odnajdywaniu w nim aspektów pozytywnych.

The article presents political analysis of two classic westerns directed by Anthony Mann - "Winchester 73" and "Tin Star". The author took up three problems. Firstly, westerns are treated as political myths functioning in the collective consciousness by which communities can handle universal political problems (e.g. relations between individuaI and society; fundamental conditions of public order). Secondly, the contextual analysis of both films has been conducted. W niniejszym artykule poszukuję odpowiedzi na pytanie: Jakie są sensy i znaczenia metafor we Wrocławskiej Szkole Przyszłości (WSP)? Ukazuję zastosowanie języka metaforycznego w szkole, gdzie metaforę traktuje się jako źródło wiedzy o otaczającym świecie, jako swoiste wspomaganie efektywniejszej komunikacji oraz jako stymulator wyobraźni. We WSP uważa się, że dziecko nie musi być skazane na edukację opartą na stereotypowych zachowaniach. Uważa się tam, że w procesie edukacji potrzebne jest myślenie kreatywne, oparte na rozmaitych skojarzeniach, w których wykorzystywana jest umiejętność tworzenia mapy myśli, wyobraźni, czyli tzw. edukacja z wyobraźnią.
