Copper(II) and platinum(II) complexes of 2-benzoylpyrrole (2-BZPH) were synthesized and characterized with IR, 1 H and 1 3 C NMR spectroscopies and coordination geometry with ligands arranged in transoid fashion. The crystal structure of [Cu I I (2-BZP) 2 ] was determined by X-ray diffraction. Death of complex treated Jurkat cells was measured by flow cytometry. The bis-chelate complexes [Cu I I (2-BZP) 2 ] and [Pt I I (2-BZP) 2 ] adopt square-planar coordination geometry with ligands, arranged in transoid fashion. Porous 3D Printed Scavenger Filters for Selective Recovery of Precious Metals from Electronic Waste

Selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing is used to fabricate highly macroporous ion scavenger filters for recovery of Pd and Pt from electronic waste. The scavengers are printed by using a mixture of polypropylene with 10 wt% of type‐1 anion exchange resin. Porosities and the flow‐through properties of the filters are controlled by adjusting the SLS printing parameters. The cylinder‐shaped filters are used in selective recovery of Pd and Pt from acidic leachate of electronic waste simply by passing the solution through the object. The organotin polyether derived from reaction of dibutyltin dichloride and 2,5-dimethyl-3-hexyne-2,5-diol was rapidly synthesized employing classical interfacial polymerization in 65% yield and a chain length of 360 units. IR results are consistent with the polyether structure. Bands characteristic of the formation of the Sn-O are present and bands characteristic of the Sn-Cl are absent. F MALDI MS results in the low mass range gives ion fragment clusters to five units. Isotopic abundance matches for tin are consistent with its presence in these ion fragment clusters. Abstract Silver–palladium bimetallic catalysts were supported on pumice following different procedures, based on mild treatments of organometallic precursors. The experiments for the structural characterization of the synthesized samples, wide angle X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, were carried out at the beamline GILDA of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The analysis of the data demonstrated that alloying took place with a degree of homogeneity depending on the different preparation routes.

Bio‐based chemicals can be produced from furfural through hydrotreatment. In this study, 2‐methylfuran (MF), a potential biofuel component, was produced with Pt, Ru, and Ni catalysts supported on wood‐based activated carbons. The catalytic hydrotreatment experiments were conducted in a batch reactor at 210–240 °C with 2‐propanol as solvent and 40 bar H2 pressure. Two types of activated carbon supports were prepared by carbonization and activation of lignocellulosic biomass (forest‐residue‐based birch and spruce from Finland). The distribution of metals in the intracluster medium (ICM) of galaxy clusters provides valuable information on their formation and evolution, on the connection with the cosmic star formation and on the effects of different gas processes. By analyzing a sample of simulated galaxy clusters, we study the chemical enrichment of the ICM, its evolution, and its relation with the physical processes included in the simulation and with the thermal properties of the core. The activity concentrations of 99mTc-HMPAO in brain after intravenous injection were evaluated in 25 patients using SPECT. With additional first pass studies of heart and brain with the short lived isotope 195mAu, the cardiac output and the mean cerebral transit times of the patients were measured a short time before the HMPAO injection. The time dependence of 99mTc-HMPAO activity in the brain was registered during the first 5 min after injection over both hemispheres. Using a simplified three compartment model it was possible to calculate the mean retention fraction of HMPAO in brain from the time activity curves.
