Novel Applications of Dynamic NMR in Organic Chemistry

2003

Abstract This review article is oriented on NMR applications in studying various dynamic processes of organic molecules. The topic as a whole is too large to be covered exhaustively in one article or by one author. Therefore, the literature searches are limited mainly for the years 1999–2001. Further, many interesting branches joined essentially with organic chemistry such as supramolecular and organometallic chemistry are left outside this article because there exist recent reviews on these topics. Similarly, the theoretical background of dynamic NMR is not included. The nature of dynamic NMR itself is changing with the recent progress in computational possibilities to estimate the differe…

Oxalate-based 2D magnets: the series [NBu4][MIIMnIII(ox)3] (MII= Fe, Co, Ni, Zn; ox = oxalate dianion)

2006

The synthesis, structure and physical properties of the bimetallic oxalate-based molecular magnets containing MnIII of formula [NBu4][MIIMn(ox)3] (MII = Fe, Co, Ni, Zn; ox = oxalate dianion) are presented here. All compounds are isostructural, containing two-dimensional honeycomb bimetallic networks formed by alternating MII and MIII ions connected by oxalate anions. These compounds exhibit antiferromagnetic interactions that give rise to ferrimagnets or weak ferromagnets ordering at critical temperatures up to 21 K.

ChemInform Abstract: COMPLEXES OF ORGANOMETALLIC COMPOUNDS PART 42, SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES OF N,N′-ETHYLENEBIS(ACETYLACETONEIMINE) AND N,N′-ETHYLENEBI…

1975

Abstract The nature of the 1 1 adducts formed from the ligands N,N′-ethylenebis(acetylacetonemine) and N,N′-ethylenebis(salicylideneimine) with Ph2PbCl2 and PhTlCl2 was investigated in the solid state and in methanol solution by IR, electronic and PMR spectroscopy, and by osmometry and conductivity. The adducts exist only in the solid state and dissociate fully into the parent compounds in solution. Polymeric structures are proposed for the solids, in which bis-monodentate ligands bridge the organometallic moieties.

Ionic Liquids in Biphasic Ethylene Polymerisation

2011

Over the past several years there has been a considerable increase in the interest of ionic liquids as versatile reaction media for a wide variety of synthetic processes. The popularity of ionic liquids has been related primarily to their unique physical and chemical properties, which can be tailored by the judicious selection of cations and anions. These properties make it possible to use ionic liquids as solvents for many organic, inorganic, and organometallic compounds, including catalysts and co-catalysts, for various types of reactions. In particular, the polar but weakly coordinating character of ionic liquids enables them to be applied as mediums in catalysis, to immobilize various k…
